Braces and ear problems/tinnitus

Hi everyone, I was braced about three months ago and have since heard that braces and bite correction can have a curing effect on ear problems such as tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Since I suffer from tinnitus, I was very hopeful when I heard this. Does anyone know anything more about this, whether it is true or not? Any help is greatly appreciated.
