Age does not matter, I just got braced with metal on the bottum and invisaline on top, it didn't matter to me if I had metal everywhere that was the ortho's decision. I had a problem with my bite and I needed it fixed "if you break your leg you need a cast". I thought I would be SO self concious about this I would be sick but all is good. If anybody is out there worrying about what other people think. NOBODY CARES
