Essex or Harley retainers

I'm new to the site and quite surprised about patients and their feelings about the treatment and the final outcome. The concern about the Essex or Hawley retainers....the orthodontist love the Essex because it's a cost saving devise which can be made for a dollar ( material) in office by the assistant. It's a poor appliance with no control like a hawley retainer but the patients don't know because they are relying on the educational background of their orthodontist....why would a person with like that sway you? Hawley retainers are not out dated or obsolete the Hawley is here to stay..ask for the HAWLEY retainer....love mind.
