Toronto Oral Surgeons

#1 Post by freakshow »

Hello guys
New to this web
I have an anterior open bite and my orthodontist said that I have to get a surgery
He has referred me to Dr.Tocchio and have said he is the best around
Although I have seen some negative review , like really bad
Im very scared, Im only 20 years old and as I have read and researched there comes compilation post surgery
Has anyone had any experiences with him , and how was your experience?
Do you like results or have faced any complications ?

Welcome to the board. I can understand your fears and concerns. As a nurse, just let me say that reviews of doctors are often provided by those who are extremely happy or displeased with them. Often, the unhappiness is due to poor bedside manner, but not always. I glanced at a few of his reviews, and they seem typical. I would probably put a lot of weight on your current doctor's recommendation. Concerning complications: yes, they can happen. Usually they are minor, but sometimes they are a big deal. This is where you need to balance the risk vs benefit, especially of the numbness I hear about that sometimes follow these surgeries.
Also, there is a subforum on this board devoted to oral surgery viewforum.php?f=15 , which you may want to check out and post your questions there.
Best of luck to you. One step at at time.
Dan
