So, I've been wearing Damon braces for 7 months now, but at today's appointment my orthodontist put these things at the back of my front two teeth and all I understood was that they are supposed to help with my overbite, but I can't find them anywhere online or what they're called. I also lisp a lot now which is something I've never struggled with while wearing braces and I can't use my molars when chewing (they don't even touch, btw, there's a huge gap between my upper and lower jaw), he told to only chew with my front teeth. Also, these things prevent my lower jaw from going further back. A little help?
Here's a picture since I don't really know how to attach a picture to my post :D : https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vd9-pzR52Ss/ ... 164834.png
What are these?

Re: What are these?
My Ortho calls them “build-ups”. I have them under my top back molars so that my jaw won’t close fully since my overbite is so great, there wouldn’t be space for my lower brackets otherwise. Mine seem to be wearing down as the days go by with me eating, but I guess that’s a normal thing. They’ll probably be built back up at my next appt in December.
Re: What are these?
Most people who get braces would hit their lower front brackets with their upper front teeth. Those buildups prevent that from happening.
