Hi! I'm 33 and have been self-conscious about my smile my whole life. I have an underbite, a severe posterior crossbite, and severe upper arch crowding. My pallet is too narrow. I am not willing to have jaw surgery, but had an ortho suggest a consultation with a jaw surgeon so I could weigh my options. The surgeon was very informative, and said I had three options--1. Do nothing, which could lead to teeth wear, 2. Top braces only, which would straighten my teeth, but thinks it won't correct the underbite or crossbite, and he says there's no way to predict how it will affect my bite. 3. Surgically place a pallet expander, move my top jaw forward, and rotate my bottom jaw.

Has anyone had experience with the same issues and had only top braces placed? What were the results?
