Ortho wants to move teeth for missing lateral incisors

#1 Post by bhumik85 »

i am 32 years old. my tooth 7 and 10 are missing due to root canal complications. The bone on tooth 7 has resorbed quiet a bit and I would need a ridge augmentation prior to implant placement when the time comes.

I saw an orthodontist who gave me the option of placing a TAD implant and then moving all the back tooth upfront to close the space. He would first move the eye tooths up front and once there are 4 tooth up front, place a TAD with an anchor to hold the front tooth in its place while all the back tooth get pulled in the front.

I do find it tempting as I would love to have my own teeth as opposed to implants. HE said the only con to this is the process will take longer 30 months. (i do not mind this).

Have any of you gone this route and if so please tell me if you would recommend or you regret it.

thank you
