What did you have done at your last adjustment?

#1 Post by purpleteeth »

Just curious... because I had my 2nd adjustment yesterday and was told I would be getting something *special* at my THIRD, which is in 10 weeks, and I can hardly wait!!!

So... I had the following done:
- new wire, which is nbr 3 of 5 for me
- a small clear chain somewhere on top and in back (can hardly see it) on the right side to turn a tooth
- 4 new posts on bottom for a new rubber band configuration
- new rubber bands (Rams, colored because they are thicker... but clears for anytime I need to look a little more formal), placed in a triangle, that hook to my canine and then down to two teeth directly on bottom (sorry, I don't know all the names of my teeth... besides "OUCH" and "TURNING" and "SPACED OUT")
- 4 coils on top (I think I had 5 last time... can't remember)
- continued placement of my crossbite rubberbands in back, which hook on the inside of my top molar and wrap around to the bottom front (Rams)
**NEXT TIME** I get my tiny little tooth next to my middle tooth on the left gets built up, in addition to my regular adjustment!!! Yay!!! The gap will be mostly gone!!!

What did you have done? What color are your new ligs, if you get them? Anything new put on or taken off?

Hi there,

My purple power chain across the upper front 6 was removed. My heavy wire stayed on the top, but with a small bend near the incisor added to tweak my bite. I had a very heavy wire placed on the bottom, it had 2 small bends at both incisors to tip the lower 4 forward. JOY!!! For the first time in my life I can feel my uppers and lowers lightly tapping together.... No more overbite!

Hoooor~ah me!

Also~ I was given the order to stop wearing elastics at night. Kind of freaky.. I keep wondering if spaces will open up!

All in~ a very eventful trip to the chair...

Didn't even get my archwire changed :(

Ligs replaced with wireties. Rotated lower central incisor engaged with a wire. Lower rotated first pre-molar fully engaged with a lig.

At my last appointment 3 weeks ago, I got wire ties on all my lowers and my upper 5's. I was hoping for a new upper wire, but that will happen in 3 weeks.

B
Started the journey for the second time on January 10th 2008~Ceramic uppers and metal lowers. Removed on June 2nd 2009.

1 - upper and lower expander
2 - braces on top w/ very thin wire
3 - upper expander removed, thicker wire on top
4 - lower expander removed, power chains / brackets on bottom, even heavier wire on top

Mine was an interim visit. I'd had two clear ligs (as opposed to wire ties on the rest of my teeth) after having the coiled spring at the front taken off at the visit before (yay!) and they'd got stained so went to have them changed. But my ortho changed other wireties and archwire to keep the same pressure. She took the elastic ligs off as the teeth had moved enough. And said I would have my uppers soon. She also put a powerchain on.

This previous adjustment was actually my first ever. All they did was give my teeth a good once-over and change my ligs. My next adjustment is on 4/26... I'm told I'll be getting a thicker wire then!

I'm not looking forward to the pain (obviously), but I try to remember that pain=progress. :D

Forgot to mention getting a tooth shaved down too...

Wow, That was a busy appointment. !!! :P

I wish I could remember what was done on ALL my adjustments. There have been too many to recall. (*sigh)

A few weeks ago I just went in for a check up and they put a new hook for my elastics, but next week I get my next wire. Oh boy, progress! 8)

I had new powerchains upper and lower, my push coil springs reactivated by means of stoppers on the archwire, and my Nance appliance taken out (thank goodness).

I go again next week and I'm hoping to hear the good news that my spring have done their job.

I have self litigating brackets So no colored ligs. They put in an overlay wire on top of my first wire and added a power chain to my front four teeth. (Well at least they are supposedly front teeth......) Or should I say soon to be front teeth?
Try flossing with two wires in your brackets.... one false move with the threader and your stuck.

I had a simple interim adjustment. Because of my 4 extractions, overjet and protruding lower incisors, I don't have anywires, just springs. So all he did was adjust and tighten- :soremouth: - my springs.

But I'm hoping for the wire next visit. :D
4 Wisdom teeth extracted
4 First bicuspids extracted
1 Trans-palatal arch
4 springs
Silver ligatures
Damon brackets
And a partidge in a pear tree!
