Hello:
I have a 3-4 mm open bite. (teeth only touch on the back molars). I visited an orthodontist who suggested a "gentle" approach intruding the back teeth up 1-2 mm with invisalign.
To the people out there who have done this, can you answer some basic questions for me?
1. Were you happy with the treatment?
2. Do you feel now like you have a "comfortable" bite (eg the teeth feel like they are in a good position and teeth hit in a "comfortable" way
3. Did you need to get extractions or teeth "shaved" in the process? I'm really hoping to avoid these things
4. Were you satisfied that you went with invisalign and not traditional braces or jaw surgery
5. If you had any TMJ going into it, did you think "intruding" the back molars made the TMJ worse?
6. Do you have any pain from treatment?
7. Did your orthodontist have the "elite" level of invisalign or is it ok to go with someone who hasn't treated that many invisalign cases?
8. Any other advice?
Thanks again,
Correct open bite with Invisalign
