As much as I'm concerned about hurting him, I'm concerned about hurting myself. It's been two and a half weeks and it still hurts to extend my tongue very far... I'll suddenly feel a sharp pinch or poke in the back.

I have just lower linguals. Getting upper on in a few weeks. I have to say, it's been pretty discouraging. I didn't think my tongue would still be this sore. I'm starting to wonder if I'm ever going to get used to it.

Just started seeing a guy and haven't kissed him yet... I'm afraid I'll yelp in pain.

HI!

I got lingual in september. Kissing is really ok after a few days, when the discomfort gets away.

As for oral sex, personnaly, i achieved to do it. Still, I can play only with the extremity of his *, but i manage to get the most out of it!

Good luck! You can do it! ;)

I am now on aligner 20 out of 24 (almost there!) and have a boyfriend who does not know about my aligners! I see him everyday and he has not noticed - I have kissed with them in - no problems at all and he can't tell a thing!
Wow, that's quite a lie you're leading. Good stuff.

I can't imagine why a guy would be turned off by one having braces in general. Especially if they're linguals and you can't see them. Maybe the regular kind make you look like a teenager, and that can be an initial turnoff. But would I not date someone because of braces? Gimme a break. I actually have, and they posed no problem.

I admire you all for having your priorities in order. My gf has perfect teeth unlike me (Invisalign), and I still never get it. Of course I never give it either. Score.

Fellatio and precautions for those wearing lingual braces

#55 Post by drted »

Dear fans of MMMB.
This is my first post ever. It is even more meaningful since the subject is so delicate. Whether you are male or female it makes little difference whether you are wearing lingual braces. The most important factor is the actual size of your mouth in comparison to the size of the person to whom you are giving the pleasure: More consideration/precaution should be applied when the pleasure giver's mouth is small. In such a case more more finesse can go along way to the avoidance of accidents. Indeed, practice make perfect.
A simple precaution that an inexperienced provider of the pleasure can take is to place some braces wax on top of the lingual braces. Show your partner. This lets them know you care.
Ps: I have treated a number of TMJ patients. I am very candid in my advice and they are thankful. I advise those who are fond of performing fellatio, for the ones they love, to be careful about keeping the mouth open too long or too wide, lest these excesses precipitat an acute problem in their TMJ. Hey,

So I've had my lingual brackets on for about 3 weeks, just got the wire in a couple days ago. Even before the wire went I've had to be super careful, and theyve definitely touched his member a couple of times. He's thankfully happy to let me practice and figure out what works, but there is a constant look of fear in his eyes that something might accidentally snag. Now with the wire in, especially with pokey edge I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions of particular types protectors that work well. Any mouthguards that work for lingual braces? or should I just try out wax (any suggestions of particular brands?)

thanks!

Dear Traperr:

Ouch! You have to get the "hang" of it (excuse the awful pun) lol.
1. At your next appoinment tell your doctor he left something sharp in your mouth and you had "frantic tongue" for weeks. "Please doc make sure you tuck in tightly all the sharpies or sand down all the rought spots--Puhleeze"! When he says there is it ok now? You double check with your TONGUE AND WITH YOUR FINGER. If it passes those two tests you're in.
2. Allow and encourage fellatee (you are the fellatee) to put his finger in your mouth and feel around for sharpies so the he can assure himself that his precious member will be safe from harm. I'm sure both you and he will not object (ask him to wash his hands first, indeed just for laughs go buy some doctor's exam gloves for him to put on to prevent the introduction any foreign bacteria in to your mouth from his digital palpations. You may even find he likes it. While he is examing you can close your lips around the finger and do a dance with your tounge just to remind him of what lies "ahead".
3. You or he can just put some wax on the parts of the brace that might be causing him a problem. (Do a short "trial run")
4. Remember this seriously: TMJ occurs 9/10 in females so if you are one stop and rest when if your jaw joints are feeling stressed. Simply put DO NOT keep your mouth wide open too long. His joint will get the pleasure but your joint will be harmed over the long term. Cordiall. Dr. Ted www.drted.con april 28, 2011
