Agreed. I did plenty of backpacking and camping with braces and didn't really think much of it. Bring some extra supplies and have fun!

Yeah, you'll have to leave your waterpic behind, lol.

If you are asking the question then you must be ready to have some fun with color! I sure did. Some prefer to keep their ligs discreet colors, but I think those of us who went with bolder colors will all tell you that people may, or may not, notice your braces regardless of what colors you put on th...

I know how you feel - on day 1 of getting my essix retainers I wasn't so sure I'd be able to wear them as directed. But with the help of a very fine emery board and just being persistent with wearing them I adapted in a few days and they became incredibly comfortable, believe it or not. The back of ...

My ortho had a plethora of shades of blue... I had baby blue as my first set of ligs and enjoyed them because they held up well to coffee stains (they changed color a bit but it wasn't an unpleasant color, so that's good). I also had a periwinkle blue that I quite enjoyed... oh and metallic sort &qu...

Hahaha, I still do this sometimes when I put my essix retainers in at night! Sometimes (not every time) there's a bit of a crackle as the teeth all line back up where they're supposed to be after a long day of freedom. And it feels sooo good. When I had braces I would find a tooth every so often tha...

Just my 2¢ re: essix retainers: They are quite comfortable! So no worries there ;) (I can understand being used to one thing and switching to another, though, my situation was obviously different) as a side note, I have to say, you guys have it tougher on the speaking-without-a-lisp thing. I had no...

Congrats!!

It took me a couple days to get used to the essix, but before I knew it I was speaking normally and found them to be quite comfortable. Talk to yourself in the car, it helps warm you up for speaking in public!

I got used to the feeling of my essix retainer in a couple days and found it to become quite comfortable. I had to do a little bit of filing with an emery board to one of the inside edges that was rubbing my tongue, but otherwise it was easy to get used to. I have only had my retainers for 4 months ...

I am only in essix and do not have a bonded retainer. There is a lady in my office who just got her braces off yesterday and she has an essix retainer as well. She looks so great, I'm so happy for her! Her instructions were 24/7 for 3 weeks, nightly after that for several months, then to "play ...

I spit a little fleck of food at a coworker during a c0cktail/hors d’oeuvres reception. Nice. I apologized, covered my mouth and laughed it off! I least I had the braces to blame!

I had orthoCAD so the brackets weren't individually placed but in 4 sections of trays instead (like funshine). I was in and out and back to work in under an hour!

Oh yeah Spidey, it's the best. It was that "slimy tooth" feeling everyone talks about when they get their braces off all over again! I could tell when she got to a spot that had been hidden for awhile, it kinda hurt sometimes but I didn't even care, it was so nice to be getting a fantastic...

Yes, they are working. I would only feel pressure from a new powerchain for a day or two, but they certainly closed up a lot of gaps between adjustments! I noticed too, a feeling of "release" when I would go in for an adjustment and they would remove the old powerchain, like my teeth had b...

I drink a lot of coffee and had little to no extra staining when I got my braces off (don't be mistaken though, my teeth were yellow from drinking coffee anyway before I got my braces on, there just wasn't anything special about the stains when the braces came off.) I bought a whitening kit from my ...

I haven't had my 6 mo retainer check yet, but it will be the first time I'll see my ortho since getting my braces off. I think I go back a few more times at 6 mo intervals after that.
