Ditched the citrus one - it was vile! I've now bought the regular mint one, and I love it.

Do you really want to be keeping your teeth in a glass next to your bed from the age of 30 or so? You're married now, so what your mum thinks is really immaterial. There could be an element of guilt there too, that she didn't get your teeth sorted for you when you were a child. Anyhow, spend the wee...

hi Leelu. I only mentioned the whole tea thing to highlight the fact that fluoride toothpastes and mouthwashes do not contain enough fluoride to give a systemic "whole-body" impact, despite the scaremongerers who would have us believe otherwise  There are everyday items we eat and dr...

If you were able to stuff it back in with your fingernail, then it's done its work well, hence the reduction in pain.

So do you get your bands and lingual arch on tomorrow? When do you get the carriere rods put on? I'm interested in seeing those.

Good luck!

Oh wow, what a lot of supportive comments! Thank you everyone for being angry on my behalf. In the cold light of day though, I don't think he was deliberately trying to be rude. I think he was younger than the 20 I originally said. He might have only been 16 or 17 (it's a family business so he was p...

Mouthwash is only in contact with your teeth for the 30 seconds or so you are using it. Any remaining after you spit will soon get diluted with saliva. The same with toothpaste. Of course, don't swallow it  Excessive ingestion of fluoride from swallowing toothpaste or drinking fluoridated water...

First time I've felt embarrassed....

I've had braces for just over 2 years now, and I've got so used to them that I never think about the reactions of other people anymore. Plus I've only ever had either interested or positive comments. But tonight, we went out for a curry because my husband is going away tomorrow for work until the en...

I had a crossbite on my premolars and they were also rotated. At the moment they are kind of meeting point to point and I have an open bite on one side which looks quite odd and feels uncomfortable. If you go to the last page of my blog there's a picture. Like you, I really want it to shift because ...

Hi James and welcome. There are several people here from the UK, and most of the members here (not surprisingly  ) have braces, or have had them in the past. I would suggest you have a cruise round the various boards, as you will probably find answers to any general questions you might have. G...

Yup the ones on the outside were much easier to deal with. Insertion was easier and they were not painful afterwards at all. Removal is a piece of cake too. Definitely check about the costs though. My first two were done by an oral surgeon, hence the separate charge, but the others were done by my o...
