Thanks drrick for replying so quickly! I will probably set up a consultation this week after the holiday once I find a few orthos around here that use the inman. MY ortho doesn't happen to, I sent an email and asked the office a few weeks ago, and I won't be seen by him until the end of June again a...

Hawley retainers can, they can be made with springs, screws, and other additional parts to shift teeth. I think they can also be fitted with hooks or something for elastics which would be attached using buttons or something on opposing teeth to move them. I had a retainer with springs after my initi...

Oh how much I wish I had been able to get braces as a kid.... for those of us who had to wait till we were adults of course we wanted it, after going thru half our lives with crooked teeth. For the OP, I have always ever had a hawley, I had one, well two actually after my first round with braces wit...

I'm not quite sure why so many people complain about the bonded retainers. I have a lower bonded retainer that I have had for 13 years lol. I have never been able to thread the floss in one spot, but interprox brushes or picks work just fine to 'floss' the rest. If I DO decide to redo treatment, I w...

I read all 42 pages of this thread, since I did a search about reviews to find more info than what is available at the inman aligner site. I was very happy to see so many people using them and having such great results! I guess my question would be for drrick - although anybody can answer it if you ...

I had my braces originally when I was 20, but now it's been about 13 years since. I have a new retainer with some springs for the top and I've been looking into the idea of an inman aligner for the bottom - unless a retainer alone can correct flaring. It's hard to explain really, and I still have a ...

Hi Cathykay, I haven't posted here in quite awhile but this popped up as I was searching for info on inman aligners. Anyway, I can give you my experience with 'deep cleanings' and perio maintenance. I have recently switched to a new dentist and I am SO GLAD I did. I had been going to an office very ...

How funny is this, my lower arch looks very similar to yours - mine was not perfectly aligned either apparently. I think in my case it may have been because one tooth would no longer move the direction it was trying to be pushed, so the one next to it had to stay 'a little off' as well. I am learnin...

I would second the comment that most people do get bonded ones - at least lowers. My ortho had said that was normal practice unless there was a specific reason why not. There is a much better chance of preserving results. A poll would be interesting - anybody here NOT get a bonded? I would have been...

I have a bonded lower, and I WISH I had gotten a bonded upper too. I hear from other people that they do not last forever, but I have had mine for more than 10 years. Whenever I get my teeth cleaned I am always asked how long I intend to keep it - apparently it is still in decent condition, not caus...

I'm not sure what other options you have if the dentist says it is too deep to sand down a little. I have a small spot so I know what you're talking about but nobody notices it except me. Veneers (like lumineers) can be beautiful restorations and don't really damage teeth much - but I don't know if ...
