Ive briefly spoken to my mates about my brace but never felt the need to prep them or give them updates. I understand why some may feel they need to tell people so they can speak about them and vent etc, but i didn't feel it was anyones business. I see braces as a medical treatment and i wouldn't go...

Your teeth are looking really good. Bet you are well happy about the removal date, think your slightly ahead of me in your treatment but i havn't been given a removal date yet which is annoying. Although, the ortho does say 'not long to go now', but his estimation of not long and mine could be two d...

Your ortho has done an excellent job. Like Meryaten said, you wouldn't be able to tell your teeth were like they were in the before picture.

Hows it been with them off?

I didn't notice any movement for the first three months into my treatment, but after that it came thick and fast. I don't know if it is the same for anyone else, but i have had periods when my teeth don't seem to be moving at all and then there are times when they seem to be making too much progress...

Yea im considering doing that...but in doing that, would i affect his work and planned treatment for my teeth? Also, do you reckon the ortho would get peeved if i asked that? See i don't understand the result of intefering with ligs so i don't know how much of a favour i am asking the ortho to do if...

Cheers for all the responses. Used a tweezer the other day to pop the wire back into place but then a day later a wire on the top arch became loose and i can't manage to pop it back in. I've decided i will pop into the ortho on wednesday.

Once again, thanks for the responses.

Change of ligs for christmas...

My ligs have turned that yellow colour and i was thinking before an xmas party on sunday, would it be too much to go to the ortho and ask for them to be changed?

Many Thanks

I was thinking of just going in on monday when they are next open? Will having the loose wire affect the treatment majorly?

Many Thanks

Should i go to the ortho?

As ive said in a previous post, after a year and a bit in braces im back to the first wires which we all know are weaker and bend easily. Yesterday i was eating dinner and the wire has popped out at the back. Do i need to pay a visit to the ortho? My next adjustment is in five weeks time. Many Thank...

Ahh good to hear its not unusual to go back a couple of wires and have your powerchains removed. Just wondering do people get ligs towards the end I remember reading before that the first wire (thin) and ligs have a particular role and aid movement more that a thick wire? Am i wrong? Need some insightful advice...

Went to the ortho today... The ortho took of all the powerchain and put new bands on the further back teeth. Instead of the powerchain he has now put ligs on each tooth. Today, the ortho also mentioned that there is 'not long to go now'. I had ligs for the first 5 months of being braced and then pow...

Thanks for all the responses. The year has flown by, it seems like yesterday that i got them fitted. If anyone is reading this and thinking about braces id advise you to go for it as it is well worth while. I don't know how long i have left yet, id say a good few months if not another year as my lef...

I found my inscisor to move at a fairly good pace, its just the other tooth behind it that doesn't seem to want to go it. Also, my left side bite isn't correct and there has been very little movement with that. I hope that the teeth will start moving again like they did in the early days.

My braces are 1 today!

Ive been braced exactly one year today. The year has been tough and ive found braces tougher than i imagined, the sores, the dry mouth, the pain after each adjustment..... but all of this is outweighed by the progress which i have witnessed on this journey. http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/3337/1208...
