*melissa* did this when she was unhappy with her ortho and her braces, although I believe she had the new ortho remove the old braces. You can read about it here: http://archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=25097&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=melissa&start=180 The link goes to t...

Hi tdawg7669, congratulations on beginning your journey! It sounds like your doctors have a lot of stuff in mind for you. I hope they're able to correct your bite without the surgery. Those spacers can be annoying for a few days, but it means they're doing their jobs. It will be a relief when they t...

Hi Ken, I'm sorry to hear you say you're not expecting such a good result. What do you think will be wrong with your result? I hope you are pleasantly surprised with a happier outcome than you're expecting! I went in for my retainers today. They didn't feel as bad as I expected. I thought they'd be ...

Mine went about 8 months longer than estimated. I think it was because of the delay/indecision about an extraction. By the time I had the extraction, I was near the end of my estimated treatment time. So it took longer while the gap closed. It was worth the wait, though!

On my de-bracing day, I left the orthos and went out to breakfast. I passed on the bacon thinking it would be too crunchy, but I bit into my toast with no problem. My teeth felt pretty good right after my braces were removed. I expected some pain, but really didn't have any. I will try bacon next!

Happy catfish!

I got my braces off today so I think I'll start hanging out in this forum. :) I was pleased at how easily they came off and how painless the whole thing was. And it's so easy to eat and floss now - yay!! I have before and after pics here: http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=26788&pos...

Woo Hoo!!! I am a happy girl today! 2 years, 8 months, 1 week and 4 days later I have naked teeth! The braces removal went really well, and I'm already used to my new slippery teeth! I was concerned the removal would be painful because he uses a tool that blows cold air. I have so many exposed roots...

Hi urs10, welcome to the club! I'm looking forward to seeing your pics. It's always nice to follow other's progress. When I got spacers I didn't have a choice of colors. They were a bright, medium shade of blue. But they were far enough back in my mouth that I didn't think they were too noticeable. ...

Hey Ken, I just caught up on your story. So you did have to have the additional surgery, huh? Too bad, but at least it's over and it went well. I sure hope you get back on track with your braces pretty soon. It sounds like you're soooo close! Good luck and I hope you cross the finish line pretty soon!

Hi Mike, thanks for visiting my story. Your post in my story is how I learned that you got your braces off. The last I'd read, you were afraid you were going to have a set back. I was so happy to check in and find that you moved ahead and got your braces off - how awesome !!! Not only do you have a ...

I went in today to get my bonded retainer. I have been pleasantly surprised that it is not a bother so far. I thought it would be hard to get used to, but it's really pretty smooth except where the wire is exposed, and even that isn't bad. He used a braided surgical stainless steel wire that he fitt...

Hi Rob, I just got caught up on your story. It's been a while since I've checked in, and I was amazed at your progress. I was wondering how things were going to go with Mr. T, and he's really in line now. Nice! It will be great to hear when your end date will be. A happy day to look forward to indeed!
