Re: Anyone NOT regret their extractions?

I've had 4 extractions total, 2 just prior to braces and 2 others a few years ago that would also have been done now if they hadn't been pulled already. I've had no issues at all aside from the normal initial discomfort and a very mild infection. No jaw issues whatsoever. As others have said, it's t...

Re: *GULP*

Just a side note if your orthodontist only comes every 4-6 weeks, is there someone local to deal with emergencies? Especially in the beginning, wires can pop out of your back brackets and wire ends can get pretty poky. Just a thought to consider or questions to ask your orthodontist.

Re: Starting 2013 with braces...

Thanks everyone :) I'll go pick up some spare soft brushes tomorrow, this one is getting pretty fuzzy and I'm getting the odd hair stuck in a bracket, not fun! Thanks Dee! :) It took ages to get there, but I'm so happy to finally be on my way! I'm still amazed at how many people havent noticed or on...

Re: Starting 2013 with braces...

Wow, time flies! I'll be 4 weeks in on Monday, hard to believe! Aside from the first 10 days, it's been a breeze for the most part. The first 10 days everything was very tender and I had 3 nasty ulcers all next to eachother. Since they've healed up, I've been able to eat normally and aside from the ...

Re: Loose Wire - Help!!

Thanks everyone. Just traditional metal braces here. I rung this morning and will be going in this afternoon. Far from convenient today, but they're closed all next week, so it'll be a mad rush from work this afternoon to get there on time

Loose Wire - Help!!

My wire popped out of the back at the top right side this morning. I've been trying to thread it back in, but no luck so far. Does anyone have any tips on how to get it back in or should I try to get in to see the orthodontist tomorrow? He did say it could happen with the first wire and that I can c...

Re: Two days after brackets - no arch wire yet

yep, I've found the same as zaera! When my brackets first went on they felt very rough until they got the archwire and ligs on, made it much smoother and nowhere near as rough.

Re: Starting 2013 with braces...

1 week today! It's been pretty easy for the most part. I've had lots of rubbing since Saturday and 3 fairly sore ulcers on my lower left side. Not pleasant, but not unbearable either. Having no trouble with food sticking or anything similar at this point. Was a bit worried about having rice for tea ...

Re: Starting 2013 with braces...

5 days in and I'm wondering what I was so worried about :) I'm eating all the food I normally eat, albeit slower and cut into pieces. Aside from a little rubbing after 5 days of non stop talking, I'm not having any problems at all. Still times where teeth are a bit tender from the pressure, but real...

Re: Night before braces

Easy peasy getting them on :) Lots of sitting around and can be a bit sensitive at times, but really pretty easy :) Hope it all goes well for you, I got mine Monday

Re: Starting 2013 with braces...

I have no idea about liquid meal replacement drinks, I've stuck to my normal diet just cut up small and eating a lot slower. Definitely rinsing as I go :) Not a good look to have food stuck when you're dealing with customers! Feeling ok today for the most part, just 2 brackets that arent wired in an...

Re: Starting 2013 with braces...

First annoying food moment.... Trying to eat a mince and cheese pie. Halfway through after cutting it into tiny pieces and chewing just in the back. The mince gets stuck everywhere. Arghhhhh

Re: Starting 2013 with braces...

Thanks everyone. Keeping up with the painkillers today, quite a bit of soreness and discomfort. I've managed to still eat a normal diet, just cut up very small and eating slowly.
Hoping for a better day tomorrow :)

Photo attached as well, taken yesterday just after being braced
