Re: Brace day tomorrow
Something I did for the first few days was to take some ibuprofen about an hour or so before meals so that the soreness of my teeth wasn't so bad. This really seemed to help! Also, it can take a really long time to eat at first because your mouth is just not used to everything, and as for me persona...

Re: Empower Clear or Clarity SL Ceramic braces?
So have you decided yet which you'll choose? If not, is there any way you can actually examine them both before hand? What I'm wondering is if whether you can feel a model of each one to see if one is less sharp, or if the brackets themselves are smaller or larger with one vs the other. And maybe it...

Re: Wonky to Wonderful: My Smile Renovation

The only bummer is I feel like that's a really really long time away lol I hope it flies by! I cannot wait ...

Re: Wonky to Wonderful: My Smile Renovation
How did your last appointment go? Seems like you're getting pretty close to the end so you must be excited about that! I have a few questions for you, if you don't mind. First off your orthodontist office (3 orthos, multiple locations), the brand of braces, & Carlos OKelleys sound very familiar...

Re: Freaking Out!!!
**UPDATE** I went back in to my ortho's office yesterday afternoon. I was extremely nervous because I didn't want to seem like a pest, but I knew I wouldn't feel better unless I went in. Everything went great! My ortho was in a very chipper mood and was joking and asking me about my birthday plans (...

Re: Freaking Out!!!
Thanks for the advice everyone!! I will give it a few days, and if I don't see any improvement I will contact my ortho and let them know what's up. It's so stressful being this close to the end of treatment to imagine having this cause a setback! I hope they aren't annoyed by me! I just want ...

Re: End of treatment hesitation
What don't you like about your laterals? I don't see any gaps. As for the gap in the back, it could be resolved if they replace the crown on the first molar. They can enlarge and reshape it to fill in the gap. If it needs to be redone anyway, that could be a two birds, one stone sort of solution. T...

Freaking Out!!!
I had an adjustment yesterday, and my ortho asked me if there was anything that was bothering me. I told him I felt like one of my front teeth was slanted. He looked for a bit, had me show him which direction I thought it was slanted, and then he removed and repositioned the bracket. At first I was ...

Re: Reverse pull headgear for 9 yo: need advice on Doctor
I don't have any particular experience with this subject, but I can suggest in general that it would be in your best interest to have multiple consultations. It looks like you have another one so that's good! I had 3 consultations just for my standard braces and every treatment plan was different in...

Re: Brackets popping off and Sonicare!
I can agree with everyone else here! It's very commong for a bracket to come off in the beginning. I bit a bracket off the first week in my sleep due to grinding my teeth at night, but I haven't had one come off since! As you go on in your treatment you will get more comfortable with the sturdiness ...

Re: End of treatment hesitation
Something you may want to have your dentist check as soon as you get your braces off. On your crowned molar it appears the braces lowered the tooth, or you had some gum recession that exposed the bottom part of the tooth below the edge of the crown. This can allow bacteria to get inside the crown. ...

Re: End of treatment hesitation
Sorry, here are some pictures of my concerns. I love the way my smile looks, especially compared to day one. As far as the front gap goes, I can't tell how noticeable it would be once the braces aren't in the way. The back gap is kind of hard to tell what's going on. The first molar is a crown/root ...

End of treatment hesitation
I am now nearly 14 months into treatment w/ an original estimate of 22-24 months. At my last adjustment I asked my ortho how much longer he thinks I have and, next thing I know, I'm being scheduled for my last appointment before debracing! It seemed like he was just going to do a regular adjustment ...
