variety of reasons

Ceramics tend to abrade the enamel of the teeth. This is especially problems in having a deep bite, where the bottom brackets may wear down the upper teeth excessively. In patients with no deep bite, ceramics may be used on the upper and lower arches. Modern ceramic brackets do not have a difference...

delays

Been hearing about some problems with delays at the lab, including up to 20 weeks for cases to return...

3M took over the company last year and has done an excellent job marketing. This may be an issue of marketing being ahead of the ability to produce the product.

couple of recommendations

Depending on your location in the city, Dr. Bruno Venditelli in Forest Hill is one of the top iBraces providers in Toronto. If you are in the east, you can see myself or Dr. Anthony Mair at Scarborough Town Orthodontics.

Good luck!

hooks...

Great point John37. The hooks work great, especially for those without fingernails. Lower incisor extraction treatments can be very successful under the right conditions. The main complication is that there is now a smaller arch permieter in the bottom than the top. A certain ratio of the top teeth and bottom teeth is required for the jaws to fit together properly in both the poste...

speak to your orthodontist...

Sometimes if you have severe undercuts, it is difficult to remove the aligners. In most cases, teeth have a tilt outwards from the gum to the biting surface. Therefore, it is actually easier to remove the aligners from the inside at the back and slide it out and around the teeth. Take caution in adv...

Number of refinements depends on the product.

There are 3 types of Invisalign products: 1. Regular 2. Teen 3. Express The first two allow for 1 mid course correction (taking a new impression in the middle of treatment because the teeth are not tracking), and up to 3 refinements. These are built into the lab cost of the regular and Teen fees. Th...

Grinding isn't a bad thing!

Using Invisalign, you don't have to worry about grinding. The trays are quite strong and used for only two weeks at a time. We have some severe bruxers who have not had any problems with the trays. In fact, patients who grind their teeth are actually good candidates for Invisalign since there is ful...
