Clover,
So glad your back and had a positive experience of surgery. Sounds like your progressing well, and excellent ROM for so soon out of surgery! Hope things continue to go smoothly for you.

HAHAHA! that made me laugh. I don't know if I look older or younger yet, but if I did look younger it wouldn't be too bad as before my surgery I was always told I look about 4 years older than I really am!

Ooh this was a tough one, I was stuck between choosing time to listen to my concerns (my ortho always starts off by asking me how things are and if there are any problems) and efficient and friendly staff (which they are, Im always in and out within 15-20 minutes for an appointment and if im early I...

Beth, I asume your on the NHS? I know what you mean about waiting, my original timeline was that surgery would be summer of 2006, so thats 1 and a half year off. Though to be fair I think I was still growing at that point. But still, they like to keep us on our toes!

Beth, I agree with the above, your pictures are very much how I used to look before the surgery: http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f238/24Rach24/PICT0002.jpg http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f238/24Rach24/PICT0001-1.jpg The bite picture doesn't really give a clear extent of the underbite I had but ...

I had BSSO 5 weeks ago and my bottom lip is still a bit puffy and so it also feels wierd. I find that its quite hard to 'move' like Arvensis said. It must be pretty normal then, I'm just hoping my lip will return back to normal. :?

I got my date about 3 months in advance and returned to work/college 4 weeks after surgery. Though half term was tagged on the end so I had an extra week than I really needed. 2 weeks may be fine but be prepared that you may not feel up to it 14 days post-op. Good luck for getting the date you want!...

Hey Spartanfan, sorry to hear about your gross happenings, that must have been scary, fainting and all, especially if you have never before. I fainted when I was in hospital and I am pretty sure that was due to dehydration/lack of food in me, so I think it is a VERY important point to remember to dr...

Kenny, It was nice to read how you are doing, and like Lou, I am unable to know what the sinus pressure feels like or how to relieve it etc, but I'm sure that it will get better soon. And the swelling will do too, not necessarily noticeably though unless you look back on photos and what-not. In a wa...

Aww Clairet, I totally get what you mean! When I hit my three week mark (well actually a few days before), everything got me down and I was sooo emotional, but the next day I was back to normal again. Very strange how these things work. I guess we have put our bodies through a lot and it gets to us....

Lou, So sorry to hear that you've had another issue arise here :( , just think in the longer scheme of things, it will be worth it all. But it can't be fun being tight-banded, did he say how long this was going to be for or is it a wait and see kind-of thing? Glad though that the infection wasn't in...
