Thanks so much, everyone!! It took a lot less time than I expected it to and it was very painless. A little pressure, but no pain. @VA5: They took impressions with the braces still on. I've heard other people say that they had their impressions done while they still had braces, too. I was told that I'd have to wear my braces for 18-24 months. They're coming off next week which brings my time to about 2 1/2 years. So I guess that isn't too far off. I would've REALLY liked to had them off at 18 months, but oh well. Lol

I saw my ortho Monday and he told me to keep wearing my elastics and made a minor adjustment in my top wire. He told me that this time we were going to make two appointments, the first (4 weeks from now) to make impressions, and the second (6 weeks from now). He didn't say anything about the second ...

I would just ask. I tried to be as patient as long as possible before asking, but I broke down at the appointment before my last one, lol. When I did finally ask him he totally ignored me, but in a joking way.

I had Turbo Stops placed on the back of my front two teeth when I first got my braces. They had to use the glue and eventually it went away. When my ortho took the Turbos off, he scraped as much of the glue off as he could and the rest went away over time. So I would think maybe the same would apply...

I was estimated at 18-24 months. February 14 was the two-year mark of me having braces so I didn't finish on time, lol. I've just stopped expecting to be done any time soon to keep my hopes down. I'm super ready to get these things off!!

Hey! I didn't have molds taken of my teeth, either. Instead my ortho took polaroids and x-rays. Everything seems to be working fine for me and I've had mine since February.
