Re: Invisalign causing irritation

I consistently and without issue have taken an emery board to my trays. I put them in, feel around where they are irritating me, take them out and file. Repeat until the tray is comfortable, then probably repeat again a few days into each tray after it has had a chance to settle.

Re: Is the expensive cleaning system worth it?

I use a toothbrush and regular soap to clean mine for the most part. Every other day they get a bath in warm water and a denture cleaning tablet. IMO that works fine and there is no need for an expensive cleaning system.

Re: Only wearing top aligner?

I'm giving it these two weeks to see what happens with my bite. I made it clear that I did not want the retainers ordered until I give the okay. I'm willing to give the professional the benefit of the doubt :? as long as he is willing to work with me on my concerns. Believe me, I understand every mo...

Only wearing top aligner?

I am on my last aligner for my first refinement (original 10U/10L, refinement 10U/5L) and I am not happy with the way my bite is coming together. My ortho told me today to wear just the top aligner all day and leave the bottom one out during the day. He said that will help my teeth "find" ...

I file my trays all the time. Often when I first put in a new set they need filing, and sometimes after the first week when they are seated really well they need a touch up.

I won't be much help; I can only answer one question. When I switch to new aligners, I can always pop them off with one finger swipe after the first 24 hours. Maybe it is just finding the technique that worked for me. The top I can pop off just by popping the it at the last molar. The bottom I run m...

I started out with 10 aligners and asked the exact same question! I figured I should be on Invisalign Express since I had so few liners, and that would save me a couple thousand dollars. Fast forward to the end of my original 10, and I now have 10 more for my 1st set of refinements. Had I been on Ex...

Aligner not covering molar?

Finally my refinements arrived. They gave me the first 3 trays yesterday and I never even looked at them until last night. (I change trays before bed, so other than "fitting" the newest one they are giving me, I just get my new trays and be on my way) When I put the new one in at the offic...

I've also found that not allowing my aligners to dry out helps keep away the funk.

I try to keep them in a cup of water whenever possible if they are out for longer than it takes to brush and pop them back in.

I have had much better luck using just warm water and a toothbrush. I soak my aligners when I am eating, and probably once a day I add a splash of listerine to the water.

Small bites of food, no pasta, a big glass of chocolate milk, and a mommy who is willing to help you dig food out of the roof of your mouth for the first week. That's what worked for my daughter. :)

My DD had an expander to fix a crossbite. Right now she also has braces on the top front teeth. The ortho said the goal was to fix the crossbite and get her front teeth where they need to be. I don't see how that could have happened without the braces, but I believe the front tooth gap would have cl...

My DD had her expander in for the better part of a year - probably 10 months. We only turned it for the first 2-3 weeks and then it was just a place holder. The ortho likes to leave it in place as long as possible to reduce the % of "shrinkage". I know one of DDs friend's had an expander i...

Well, they are being patient with her and that's important! My DD was nervous as well. After the first couple appointments she was a pro. She was the one that asked about braces, though, so I had her buy-in when we started the process. (She's 9 now, had the expander put in just after she turned 8 ) ...

I wouldn't tell my daughter she was scaring other kids. She would stop her fit long enough to give me a lesson in worrying about HER and not about what the other kids were doing. I'm sure it would include something about if all theother kids were jumping off a bridge.... Really, I've just tri...
