Meryaten, NYG2007, Platinum, Thank you all so much for reading and responding. I have never posted pics in a post so I'm still working on that. To clarify, when I say that I want my front teeth to touch my bottom teeth, what I mean is that I want the BACK of my front top 2 teeth to touch the FRONT o...

I am NOT ready to get my braces off!!!!

Hi everyone, I have been lurking on this board a LOT for months but hardly ever post. I had been scheduled to get my braces off July 15th but chickened out at the last minute. Here's why: I do NOT believe my teeth are ready. I had braces as a teenager so any major bite problems were already sorted o...

I had to have 4 healthy teeth extracted, and that number does NOT include my wisdom teeth that were also extracted. All together, I've had 8 teeth pulled and I honestly don't understand how all of those teeth were ever expected to fit in my mouth! I had the first 4 teeth pulled when I was 10 years o...

Browneyedcutie82, It seems in my opinion that both orthos ARE saying the same thing; neither one of them recommends Invisalign. What was "not an option" to the first ortho was switiching from fixed braces to Invisalign and then back to fixed braces; I don't believe he was referring to Invi...

Lisa 65 and Sliverware, Thanks so much for the information! It sounds like you two are right on because my ortho is trying to move 4 of my teeth over just a little to fix my midline. So now I know what to expect; he's going to probably move the spring over next month. Now I'm going to start speculat...

What is this spring device in my mouth?

Hi everyone, I know I should have asked my ortho this question but I didn't look in the mirror until after I had gotten home from my last adjustment. For the next phase of my treatment, my ortho is shifting my midline back into place. I have a new apparatus in my mouth that looks like a tiny spring ...

$3400 for ceramic brackets on top teeth only, no treatment at all on bottom teeth. This is my second time in braces, and I went to my childhood ortho. Insurance is paying half, so I had a $380 down payment with monthly payments of $110 for 12 months. I'm in Saginaw, Michigan.

Hi,

I don't have any New Years' resolutions pertaining to my teeth or braces. I am sure I will get them off this year so I guess I could have made it a resolution, but I don't think something that's immenent and going to happen anyway needs to be made a goal.

Hi, I'm black but I don't have an overbite ANYMORE. I had braces and extractions when I was younger. I had 4 teeth pulled in all, 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom. They were actually able to close 3 of the gaps but not the 4th one, which is the reason I'm in braces again. I actually have just the op...

Yes, powerchains work very well in my opinion. I had braces when I was younger so I don't have any major bite problems; my teeth have just shifted so there is spacing. Powerchains are quickly taking care of all of the unwanted gaps. I love checking every morning for progress and amazingly, I actuall...

I've had a fixed lower retainer for 15 years, the same one. Although food does get stuck behind it sometimes, it is worth the price to not worry about my teeth moving. I just got braces again but only on the top because, thanks to my fixed lower retainer, my bottom teeth have not moved at all since ...

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking I would have to get a temporary retainer. He's knows I have to get bonding done so I hope he factored a temporary retainer into the price. And I am very diligent about cleaning. Thanks for the help. :)

Braces and Bonding and Retainers, oh my!!!!

Hey everybody, I just had braces put on November 5th. This is my second go around with braces; I am 30 years old. I only have braces on my top teeth, ceramic. I am very excited about getting a new smile but I'm a little nervous about how the end of my treatment is going to play out. Ok, when I get m...
