my ortho said to try to eat with the Hawley in. I've gotten used to it but depending on what I'm eating, I sometimes remove it.

I just got my braces off and I told my ortho I was hoping to NOT have the bonded lower retainer. He said in his experience, there is an extremely high rate of the lower shifting in adults unless they have the bonded retainer. And I said, "Even if they're super good about wearing the hawley"...
