Re: What is your opinion on Invisalign braces
I had Invisalign, after few months in Damon. Was on a barter with the orthodontist, which allowed me to "test" 2 options. To be honest, it was a bad idea, Invisalign didn't work and now the teeth are still crooked. As soon as I'll be able to solve other issues (serious gum recession, most ...

Re: Yes, it's the million-dollar oral sex question again
I'd only be concerned with lingual braces or protruding wires, other than that it should go pretty OK. Do take it slowly though, try to re-adjust to how your teeth are now feeling. I'm not an orthodontist, but don't think this activity would impact your treatment, it's not like a 3+ year old sucking...

Re: ArchWired ReLaunch: Guest Bloggers Needed!
So happy to hear you'll update the content on ArchWired. It's my favorite place to hang out, whenever I needed info' about orthodontics. I stopped treatment years ago, but, if you think my experience would still be worth it, I'd love to help out.

Re: Start w Damon finish w Invisalign ?
I don't recommend it. I did it and Invisalign was a waste of time. I will need to re-do the treatment and will go with Damon all the way. Works well and it doesn't look that bad anyway.

Re: Am I making the right decision?
My doctor does take photos and x-rays, but only to dcument the case. A good orthodontist can create a plan even without them, especially someone with such extensive experience.

Re: When did you start seeing results in your teeth?
Had a 'high' incisor that showed progress in 2-3 weeks already. Sure, small progress but, for someone like me who studied their teeth daily, it was pretty visible.

Re: Removing brackets
It depends on how sensitive your teeth are. some people have them more sensitive, so you might experience some soreness. But I don't think it's anything more serious, at least it wasn't in my case.

Re: First day with Invisalign
I had some issues with a tray being a bit too 'hard' on my tongue, but got used to it pretty fast. Hang in there, it will get better. And don't forget, wear your aligners AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. Some say at least 20 hours/day, make sure you do wear them as much as humanly possible. Take them out to eat,...

Re: 30 with Braces!
I know it sounds weird, but that pain is indeed good pain. It shows the treatment has started and your teeth are ready to go to their set position. Hang in there, you'll be 'shocked' to see how nicely they align and how amazing all this stuff works. In 2-3 months your mouth will already look differe...

They do change the ligatures periodically, so you'll get new clean ones. To be honest it doesn't look bad like this either. Many patients choose colored ligatures anyway, so it's not out of the ordinary.

Kudos to you. Age is less important, what matters is YOU and what you expect of your life. While many people are just there crying about their gone youth, you are changing something in you. Really impressive choice and great spirit. Keep us posted on your progress and best of luck with the treatment...

Re: Fully braced!
Don't worry, they look nice. And what matters is that you don't need to wear them for a lifetime, so just hang in there. The soreness will disappear in few days and then you'll just see how your teeth move slowly to the 'correct' position. BEST OF LUCK with your treatment and congratulations for doi...

Re: For everyone who has invisalign, is it really worth it?
No. I had Damon braces for 7 months for my 'laterals' (was a weird treatment, since I was a radio DJ back then and didn't want to lisp. So we moved the 'hard' stuff (molars) with Damon and had to finish with Invisalign (which was easy to remove, during my shows). Damon worked AMAZINGLY fast and nice,...
