Hey There, I had my surgery almost 9 months ago when I had BSSO and a chin implant removed. I had very little swelling at all except my chin and for whatever reason it took so long for the swelling in my chin to go down! Don't worry, just try to be patient and things will get better and better, but ...

Was surgery ever mentioned as a possiblity in the initial plan? Yes, if there is too much anterior-posterior descrepency then you must settle for a 'compromised' result unless you go through surgery, and the compromised result is often much less stable. I, for one, had a compromised result the first...

I have done both! :) If it is definitely ONLY your chin (not your jaw) which is the 'issue', then an implant might work well. If the real underlying problem is a recessed jaw, which is what a receeding chin is, then an implant is not the best solution. I am far, far happier fixing my recessed jaw vi...

Thanks, Karl. I really appreciate your explanation. The post-op numbness has definitely been the weirdest part of the whole surgical journey for me.

Looking great manna!! SO glad you finally got that splint out! :yuck: That must have seemed like forever toward the end. I have the same cold water sensation---isn't it strange? I don't mind it nearly as much as the 'thick' feeling in my lower lip. Debanding in March? How close is that to your origi...

Congrats on making it to the other side! Yes, your swelling has come down nicely! And not too much bruising (other than those amazing lip bruises! I wouldn't even want to know how those got there! ) Your bite looks really close, too. I think you are going to be one of those lucky ones who wil...

Excellent advice all around for you Zach :) . Like Karl, I 'paid' for my possible geino up front. Actually, they just held a check made out in advance (mine was $3900). I had a chin implant removed during my BSSO, so it made it especially difficult to ascertain whether I would, in fact, need the gen...

Hi OM! So happy to hear everything went so well! It is my personal opinion that that "girl is the mirror" is going to soon be not only recognizable, but will now have symmetry and add balance to an already attractive face! No more covering your mouth indeed----You will be looking for reaso...
