Unfortunately, they are using some wires instead of elastics on 4 of my teeth... they are only painful when installing and removing though

On my first brace day I had 6 ceramic brackets put on my upper arch. It was sort of painful after a couple hours but nothing too bad. I guess it depends!

wow, I have serious straight teeth envy now

I think once I get my braces off I will be more inclined to floss daily. I just haven't picked it up as a daily routine, plus flossing with braces is a big pain.

I'll admit that I gave up flossing completely, but I never was a flosser to begin with. I still brush thoroughly 1-2 times a day and use a waterpik to remove food stuck in my braces/teeth a couple times per day as well.

I think the mid line I marked is sort of accurate because whenever I smile or open my lips the center of my lips is also in line with the green line, as seen in the picture. Wow, we do have really similar teeth! Its neat to see how different orthos choose to treat the same/similar problems. I have self-ligating brackets and no springs, and my ortho bracketed my laterals from the beginning, even though there was barely room for a bracket between my canines and front tee...
