Re: Poll: Did You Have An Allergic Reaction to Invisalign?

Ugh! So sorry. Personally I've had no issues. The orthodox mat make you Hawley retainers instead.

Re: Teeth Shift after month w/o retainer wear

My Rx is to just wear at night, so keep that in mind while reading this. My ortho said that if I forget or miss a night to wear the Essix for like 24 hours, it will basically reset your teeth to he day the molds were taken. All that being said, I'm not sure about your one tooth. I'd wear it as best ...

Re: Braces giving me new wrinkles

Surely it's just the braces doing what you explained, pushing your lips in an unexpected way. I would think said wrinkles will disappear as soon as they're removed.

Dang Sink, you are a case study in Murphy's Law! Sorry to hear about the delay but sounds like the end is in sight. More importantly are you hitting any fall/ winter Dead and Company shows! Andrew and o are going to Orlando next month! I could resist. It's been 10-12 years for me and 25 for his one ...

Re: Wearing a retainer for more then the recommended time.

You can wear as much as you like according to my ortho. The more the better. It's when you're not wearing the recommended hours per day that your teeth shift. Congratulations on the deboning.

Re: clear or metal?

Had ceramic uppers and stainless lower. No regrets and zero issues. The ceramic are slightly larger but less noticeable but like everyone here, I was really proud of my brace face and received only compliments during my treatment. The ceramic brackets don't stain the ligatures do. I used smoke or wh...

Re: Acid on teeth

As long as you've thoroughly brushed and flossed, shouldn't the same spit that normally accumulates on your teeth during the night without a retainer be the same crap that accumulates inside your retainer during the same time frame? I'm only 3 months out of braces after nearly 5 years, but it seems...

Re: Not wearing retainer

I have the Invisalign one for my top teeth. Fixed on bottom. I got too excited and stopped wearing my retainer. My teeth didn't move for about six months and then one day I noticed a slight gap. I ignored it because over that six month time period, I would attempt to wear my retainer just for the h...

Re: Not wearing retainer

Agree with what EVERYONE has said! Indeed the struggle is making yourself wear them. It's a lifelong commitment. Had I worn mine like prescribed as a teenager I wouldn't have shucked the money out of my own pocket to have braces on again. #sorrydad If you don't wear your retainers your teeth WILL sh...

Re: People who have worn both Hawley and Essix retainers

Hey y'all! I've also had both. From my previous treatment as a teen and now again at 41. I never liked the Essix either and asked for both. Though as an adult, I only had some minor corrections so only have to wear my retainers at night. Sooo, I'm continuing the Essix at night, just before bed and I...

Re: Buck teeth and deformed face after braces

Your wisdom teeth are probably shifting your teeth. I'm surprised your ortho hadn't recommended having them extracted even prior to them coming in. I would get to your ortho asap or to an oral surgeon.
