Re: SARPE Surgery

Hi all! I am a week away from the final go/no decision on SARPE. Really having a hard time deciding. I am a 36/m with a small upper palette. I had braces as a kid, but no expansion. So my teeth are generally straight but my bite is awful (sometimes the only teeth that touch when I bite is one set o...

Re: First time braces at 33

I'm 6 months out of braces.. and it has been almost 1.5 year after double jaw surgery. I mentioned in some previous posts that I had a weird underwater feeling in my ear.. that is still there. It's much better now but when the weather is cold (? yep) I can still sense a sort of vibrating feeling in ...

Re: First time braces at 33

I finally had my parodontologist -app.. wasn’t so bad as I tought. Yes they poke between the gums and your teeth with a sharp stick but they do it so fast, it’s over in seconds. I have some deeper pockets but nothing dramatic and it only requires a deep cleaning wich would be stretched over 2 apps. ...

Re: First time - braces at 32

Re: First time braces at 33

In 1 month I have to go back to the ortho for a check up. I get to take the before/after- pictures home, so I will upload these. Wore my essix at night and it wasn't so bad, it's a bit comforting in a strange way. You are so used to the braces, and when they are gone it feels like something i...

Re: First time braces at 33

Braces are off!!!!!! And I'm happy with the results, I still have to get used to them but overall I'm pleased! :D It was really quick too, except for the molar bands, he had to cut them off. Then removal of the glue, polishing, x-rays. I have to go back tonight to get my (upper) retainer. It's an es...

Re: Why did the hygienist smooth off an elastic hook?!

When i was in elastics, i had a configuration that required an extra hook, he fabricated on out of metal wire that was placed around the hookless-bracket.
He said it was actually stronger then the ones that are already on a bracket.

Re: First time braces at 33

So.. I have an app today and (if everything is finally as it should be) I will be getting my debrace-date! I have wore my elastics as it should and I notice a small shift in my bite, hope this will be enough. Also I have a gap between my front teeth now, that developed about 2 weeks ago (The Madonna...

Re: Rude things people have said to you

I never had negative comments, I think most people don’t notice my braces. Maybe in the beginning when my archwire was all over the place, but now nearing the end, it’s hard to notice them in a normal conversation. I do had my share of comments before braces. I had massive crowding, a vampire tooth ...

Re: First time braces at 33

Woah...first upper wire change since January!? I haven't counted, but I've probably had at least six upper wire changes since then. Maybe three new wires on the lowers during that same time. Of course, I haven't seen many changes in my upper arch for the past six months, frustratingly, so I am not ...

Re: First time braces at 33

App yesterday New upper wire and I'm feeling that today! :( But I shouldn't complain, 2 years of braces and I can still count my pain days on 1 hand (is that an expression in other country's too?) First upper wire change since january. I also had a bracket change, one of my front teeth was tipping i...
