no - they where great and gave me a refund of £1000. I also got an essix and bonded retainer too.Grapefruit47 wrote: Did your orthodontist charge you for removing the braces early? If so how much and how was the cost determined?

Re: Not sure what to do -- Remove braces?
I had by brace taken off on Tuesday (3 months in), I had some work issues with redundancy threat, and really didn't want to be going to job interviews as an adult feeling self conscious of the metal. (I'm in England which is a bit more conservative than the states) The front teeth looked 95% better ...

Hey y'all. So it's been 1 month 1 week and I'm still not noticing any changes! Except for the receding gum on one teeth disappearing, which made me happy as it caused some sensitivity that has gone now. But otherwise no change that is visible. I was taking photos and comparing them but now I've sto...

Blurple, I do hope you'll return to the forum. Your posts will be helpful to others struggling with a bite block or braces. Even though you had your bite block removed, your experience is still helpful because now we know treatment can continue even without a bite block. I see that SJM's account ha...

Re: Week 1 - went back to get it taken off
Hi Blurple - I came on here to see how you were getting on and I'm sorry to see it's been so difficult. I understand why you made the choice to have to bite block removed - they sound awful. Luckily I haven't had to have one but I'm not sure how well I'd fare if I did. Braces in themselves are a lo...

Re: Week 1 - went back to get it taken off
I don't think I would put it quite that way, SJM. It's easy to judge others, I suppose. To the OP,I think it's great that you went back to your ortho and had an honest conversation, and that you were able to come up with a plan that will work for both of you. All the issues you were previously faci...

Week 1 - went back to get it taken off
The bite block has been a nightmare, I can't chew anything like pasta, I've lost 4lb and had to try and force myself to eat, as that made me nauseous. I also looked like I"d had a stroke due to the bite block skewing my jaw, I looked so bad that I've even had clients asking me what happened to ...

Having a wobble...
Went out last night, and I'd decided my brace wasn't that obvious, and my friend asked me if I'd been stung in the mouth as my lip looked swollen :( Didn't think I'd be as self conscious as I am :( Probably not helped that this is only the 3rd person I've talked to since it went on 5 days ago. Keep ...

err not an expert but I know a deep bit is when your top teeth cover your bottom teeth (which is what I have).
Hope that helps and good luck.

Re: My journey from a hot mess to a happy smile
I did get the tooth taken out, and I have a coil spring. He didn't tell me that I was getting one. I left the office and attempted to eat my favorite, chikfila, before the pain hit. I went to brush and surprise, surprise. There it was. I didn't anticipate that the space would be so big after the to...

Ah - sorry! in that case we had it done a few days apart - I've got a power chain over the gap (although it isn't very tight) I hope it doesn't take too long to close.Sunnygirl807 wrote:

Re: The frustration of waiting....
I know how you feel. It was a few months between my first consult and my braces going on... I had to see a periodental specialist, then I had moulds taken for an appliance to be made, had to wait 6 weeks, got the appliance in (tongue spinner), then braces didn't go on until 3 weeks after that. I wa...

Re: Going out for meals?
I've gotten really good at eating with my back teeth. Basically I completely avoid biting into food with my front teeth. At least if any food gets stuck on the side brackets they're aren't noticeable when you talk. I also think about what I order... for example I wouldn't get something that is awkw...

Re: Bracket Caps??
I was really worried about this - so ordered a box of comfort brace strips in readiness:- http://www.dentakit.com/for-braces.html however, I'm hoping I might be one of the lucky ones, as I'm now on day 4, not needed to use them, and only used a small amount of wax on one bracket which has a hook on ...

Yeah to the upgraded wires
Hope the gaps starts to close soon. I asked how long my gap would take and they said "pretty quickly" she said I should see a difference in a few weeks. Although mine is quite big as it was an extraction.
