Re: Has Anyone had Plate Removal?
Wondering if anyone is years out from their original surgery. Had my surgery with plates when I was 16, am now 49 and having autoimmune issues and chronic severe sinus infections with moderate to severe headaches. Will be seeing an oral surgeon this month, but dont know what to expect. Appreciate a...

Hardware (plates, screws) removal post-op?
Hi all, Has anyone here had their hardware removed? I have a few question! - After how long did you have it removed? Why? - What was the recovery like? Were you able to resume daily activities after a few days? - Were there any negative effects? - Did you notice positive changes? - Would you say it ...

Re: My daughter had double jaw surgery and it has all gone wrong!
Hi Lostfaith, I had single upper jaw surgery 10 weeks ago for lip incompetance and my smile was only gummy when I full on laughed. My surgeon impacted me 6-7mm and I hated how I looked which was a drastic change in face shape and showing all bottom teeth instead of top teeth. I saw 4 other doctors ...

Re: Upper Jaw Surgery Reversal? Nose question and Depression
I'm getting a revision done this summer to downgraft 3 or 4mm. My surgeon said he'd use hip bone for it.rimi1881 wrote:Hi Jawregret1,
Did you get a revision done? I was over impacted so am trying to organise a revision but am unsure what to do as told that down grating is very unstable.

Re: Reversing jaw surgery: has anyone ever heard of this?
First surgery was impacted 2.5, and moved back 3mm plus clockwise rotated to fix my long face and slight protrusion , i didn't have gummy smile, second surgery with another surgeon who suggested just moved forward 4.5mm and ensure me that it will have more teeth show, now it has been 6 month, it do...

Re: Reversing jaw surgery: has anyone ever heard of this?
i'm in similar situation as you as well, but my is much more worse i had second surgery and still not able to show my upper teeth enough. First surgery over impacted, then i went for another surgeon who recommended only move forward the upper jaw no bone grafting, but is improved, still not enough ...

Thanks for answering!
Did your nose change after the first surgery? If it did, you mean that your nose stayed like after the 1st surgery, not your original pre-op nose?

Re: Reversing jaw surgery: has anyone ever heard of this?
I had my reversing surgery on Apr 18. 4mm downgraft to gain tooth show, no other movement. The result is as expected now I have around 2-2.5mm tooth show(pre-op is -2mm). I've bothered with this problem for two and half years now I feel really happy. Oh, cool! I have a few questions. Did your nose ...

Re: April - June Surgery Buddies
Hi!
I'm looking towards getting surgery in early June. It'll be my second jaw surgery. My first was June last year.
My initial surgery resulted in overimpaction of the upper jaw, so my surgeon is planning on bringing it back down in the second surgery.

Re: Why is my palate always in incredible pain following Sarpe?
Hi, I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing pain post-surgery. I believe I'm experiencing something similar, but I had double jaw surgery. The lefort 1 has caused me pain in the roof of my mouth that I wish would go away. I'm 11 months post op. I hope someone comments if they know more about this, but...

Re: Is this swelling?
Hey! Do you have pictures of what you mean? But honestly, 4 months is not very long. I remember people telling me your face changes for a year, and I didn't believe them at all. I'm now at 10 months post-op and I look different than I did at 4 months. Not as puffy, things settled more. So it really ...
