Re: Oral Surgery - Tell us your results.

SARPE one year ago Appearance Impact: fuller mouth and face, wider palate. The expansion was asymmetrical (right side expanded more than left) so my right cheek is fuller, looks a bit swollen. It looks like with time and braces the cheek is becoming less fuller. Psychosocial Impact: My confidence i...

Re: How often do you change your elastics?

After every meal. If I have 3, 3 times. If I have 5, 5 times. They gave me enough, I have like 1000 haha. Go to your ortho without an appointment and ask for them. I'm sure the recepcionist can give them to you

Re: SARPE surgery nerves

Yeah, I remember my first day with the appliance I was constantly drooling, and eating was a nightmare. But since you're having surgery you won't have to worry about this because I guess you'll be with a soft food diet. Best of luck for the surgery! It's not as bad as it seems :D

Another one here. Your speech will become better with timw. There will be a time the expander will have become part of you and you won't notice it and people won't notice your lisp.

Re: SARPE - how much did your teeth move?

My gap is kinda similar than yours and after 7 weeks of not expanding the gap has closed but only a little. I guess it is different for every person. Orthos can fix anything within mm!

Re: SARPE Surgery

I don't know if anyone will read this but I'll try -- I've been expanding for two weeks and my expansion is asymmetric: right side has expanded more than left side. Ortho told me to stop expanding because he doesn't want the right side to get to a point where he can't bring the teeth back, and he sa...

My SARPE went very well! It lasted for two hours and recovery was very fast. By hour 5 I was already home. I have little to no pain and feel great, let's see how I am for the next few days :D no chewing for 2-3 weeks

Re: January - March 2017 Surgery Buddies

Another one here! Having my SARPE this coming Wednesday Feb 15th. Installed the expander last Thursday and I'm already used to swallowing. Speaking is kind of lame, also because English is my third language. Hoping that everything goes well!

SARPE vs LeFort I

Hello all, I'm writing this because I've made a decision to a 90% but I am not sure if I am doing right. I am a guy from Spain in the US, 26, I've always wanted to correct my smile and now that I have a job and insurance I thought it is the ideal time to do so. I've gone to 4 ortho consultations, al...
