Re: Bite off after each adjustment?
Thanks! It does pass and I things click back into place. Just thought it was weird that it only happens right after an adjustment.

Bite off after each adjustment?
Hi all! Has anyone experienced this...I've had 4 adjustments so far and for a day or two after every one my bite seems off. Instead of my back teeth coming together normally, they hit the edges of the molar bands- on both sides. Makes it impossible to eat anything but mashed potatoes and the like.

Re: Can't drink without swishing
Glad to see I'm not alone! I swish all the time- so much that I think it's an involuntary thing now. I do drink the occassional soda and I end up swishing with sugar

Re: Newly braced and have a couple of questions.
A waterpik is, in my opinion, the single best gift you can give your newly braced self :D So amazing at getting the bits out of all the new nooks and crannies. It used to take me about 20 minutes to clean my teeth- got it down to no more than 5-7 tops. It gets easier with practice. I use the floss t...

Re: Second adjustment
These tighter elastics are REALLY moving things along. I can actually see my teeth moving into the extraction gaps. Excited and a bit weirded out when I look at them lol. I only work seasonally in the summer- which ends in October- so luckily I won't be smiling at guests with huge gaps between in my...

I totally got carded at the liquor store last week! Scorejaime wrote:
I look young for my age too but I've always gotten colours. I'm going to enjoy being ID'ed for everything while it lasts!

Second adjustment
Today's appointment was relatively short and sweet. Got a new wire on the bottom (.016 stainless no circles- whatever that means) and new "blue" type elastics. Same horizontal configuration. Kept the same wire on top. Lilac colored ligs. He said once the gaps close up a bit more, powerchai...

Re: Spacer pain relief
Ice water helps alot. Swish it all around. It doesn't really help to be able to eat anything, but it makes the achiness a bit more tolerable.

Re: Eating is a pain in the behind!
In my mouth I have lots of gaps opening up. My bottom canines that used to lie sideways across the front of the next ones over- are almost vertical! In my profile- not too much yet.

Re: Eating is a pain in the behind!
Right now just horizontal from canine-back. Both top and bottom to close gaps. Wearing "yellows". I go on Monday for an adjustment, so we'll see what happens

Re: Eating is a pain in the behind!
Welcome welcome! It does get easier as you get used to your braces, then you get elastics and you kinda start the process all over again  That being said- I definitely do not eat the same as I did before braces. I don't snack near as much since I don't want the hassel of cleaning my teeth eve...

Doritos- all the cheesy Doritos! The orange stuff sticks to everything- all nooks and crannies- and it doesn't come off until you brush. No amount of swishing works

Re: Does anyone-
I'll be getting top/bottom ones later on in treatment. I just think to myself if anyone ever saw me trying to get these out, they would think "that lady has a serious problem" lol. I need to pick up a dental kit. I could be a dental supply salesman with all the stuff I have: toothbrush/min...
