People keep noticing!

Hi all!! I've had my lingual braces (top and bottom) on for 11 months now and I LOVE the results. However, in the past few months I have had quite a lot of people notice them when I talk, they see the bottom ones. I am really self conscious about having them on, as the reason I went lingual was to h...

Speech relapse

Hi all, I'm just over three months into my lingual braces journey. After about 6 weeks i got my speech under control, but recently about 4 days after a recent adjustment I've back fracked and struggling again with talking and also tongue soreness. Is this common? I really want to get back to where I...

Re: One week into Lingual Braces - upper and lower

I had mine on a Thursday and took the Thursday and Friday off work. It was also a long weekend so I had 5 days. I'm not going to lie...it was tough! My speech took longer than I thought to sound normal. People told me I sounded mine but to me I didn't and talking was exhausting! I think at the 2 mon...

Re: One month with lingual braces

Just really minor! I have been taking photos every day, so that helps! Food wise I can share what I've been doing! I have either a smoothie or scrambled eggs for breakfast, then lunches I made a huge load of soup, but I'm a bit over soup now so I'm now taking leftovers! So for dinners I've been doin...

Re: One week into Lingual Braces - upper and lower

Thanks Beckett! I've definitely been better with eating but don't eat as often! I've dropped a fair bit of weight in 5 weeks but I think that should stop now - hopefully! Mrcf, even though I'm still frustrated with my speech....I don't regret going with linguals. There is no way I would have had bra...

Re: One week into Lingual Braces - upper and lower

Thanks iob! A week later and I'm still struggling with speech problems! Driving me nuts! I'm trying to remain positive that I will get to that point you say, where I won't care! I do a lot of face to face talking with people at work and feel like everyone is staring at my mouth! it's so frustrating!...

Re: Lingual Braces Top, Ceramics Bottom (2 and 1/2 weeks in)...Claustrophobia

Hi, You are not alone! I know exactly the feeling you are talking about. I'm 4 weeks tomorrow into my lingual braces (top and bottom) journey. My claustrophobia has definitely gone now, but it took me a couple weeks. My lisp has actually come back a bit this week, which is frustrating. It's hard to ...

Re: One week into Lingual Braces - upper and lower

Thanks latebracefaceINCOG. Great to hear your thoughts, especially about the tooth aches! I've been going pretty well,my eating is ok...I have been able to chew a bit, but mostly just on one side. I did go a whole day and night without wax last week, but ended up very sore. I have my first adjustmen...

Re: One week into Lingual Braces - upper and lower

Re: One week into Lingual Braces - upper and lower

Thanks Kalia. I am going a lot better, what a relief! I did have some trouble and had the bracket that is on my tooth with a crown break off..so I was back at the orthodontist yesterday so feeling a bit tender today, a new tooth has decided to ache! My eating is still a bit challenging but I have be...

Re: One week into Lingual Braces - upper and lower

Thanks for the reply. Feeling better about my speech thanks to your comments! Eating is my challenge I need to combat I think, I've lost a bit of weight already and I don't really have much to lose! In addition to it being hard to bite they are still so tender, but I think it will just take time. I'...
