Secondly one of the bands on the left molar was slipping off past the bottom of tooth causing the sharpe edge mental sticking out. Ortho Dentist able to push it back up and ...

Re: Lower Jaw Surgery
I plan to have upper and lower jaw surgery within the year. Although I know it will make me look better I am doing it for practical reasons. If teeth do not meet properly (the bite), more strain is placed on the other teeth. I also have sleep apnea because of this. A lot of folks don't know they hav...

Just had SARPE surgery and will need Lefort 1 and BSSO (bringing jaw forward) in future. Want to know what if any difference folks had between the 2 surgeries. Obviously the second surgery is more extensive.

Re: Oral Health After Surgery?
Doc told me to use manual tooth brush and rinse with salt water. I felt comfortable using electric tooth brush on lower teeth and child's manual tooth brush on top careful not to hit suture line. Then used water pic on lowest pressure setting to rinse mouth. I felt it was too painful and difficult t...

Re: PRE & POST-OP SUPPLY LIST---add your list or ideas
Being a nurse I would take as few items as possible to hospital. You will only be there a nite or two depending on the type of surgery. I did not take any pjs,but if u do maybe just bottoms. They provided the non slip socks which I worn. Lip balm and facial wipes were very helpful. My face was very ...

Re: SARPE Surgery
I had SARPE surgery 10/26/2015. I did not have very much bloody mucus but the anesthesiologist put the breathing tube in my mouth. Usually the tube is put in your nose. I am also eating soft food since 1 week post op. My main problem is I am having difficulty turning the key myself. Any suggestions?...
