Re: November Surgery Buddies!

Ohh just this weekend I was wondering about my stitches too, so your messages were helpful ! The ones in my gums have started to dissolve but the ones where I had a wisdom tooth removed do not seem to be coming off.. I guess I'll have the answer on tuesday at my post-op appointment. I started to get...

Re: November Surgery Buddies!

I'm only getting the Sarpe! I'm really happy about that, I'm not sure I'd have the courage to go through the harder surgeries like yours after that !
What about you, will you need other surgeries ?

Re: November Surgery Buddies!

You're right,I don't actually have to be on a liquid diet, I could start to chew soft foods but with the numbness of my gums and teeth I haven't been able to do it so I'm more on a semi liquid/mushy diet. But I keep trying everyday ! :) I really admire you both for that actually, I had it pretty eas...

Re: November Surgery Buddies!

My jail keeper took me to the grocery store last night which was awesome. I think I only scared one person and it was a little kid. My boyfriend is exactly a foot taller than me and twice my weight because of it, so I worry that going out with him looks like he did this to me. And that's not the ca...

Re: November Surgery Buddies!

I'm late to the party on this one. I had my surgery on November 20th. The swelling peaked I think today & is starting to go down. You are so right about the sleeping upright, fun drool & boredom. I can't take codeine as it makes me nauseous when I take it on an empty stomach, that was a fun...

Re: November Surgery Buddies!

My boyfriend lives 2 hours from me and he only comes over on the weekends so I Lack of sleep after surgery seems to get to you pretty quickly I noticed, so I take a couple small naps during the day. For the numbness I don't know what's normal o...

Re: November Surgery Buddies!

Haha sleeping sitting up is so hard, I'm a side sleeper too and I have to be really tired to be able to sleep with my head up like that! My swelling was almost completely gone in the last 2 days but when I woke up yesterday my left cheek was swollen again and I had a little pain so I talked to the o...

Re: November Surgery Buddies!

Ohh I'm glad you're okay !! I also got out of the hospital early yesterday because I felt pretty good but today I'm not feeling so great ! My nose/sinuses/cheekbones are pounding so hard sometimes I think my head's about to blow. Painkillers are not doing much for me, but the Ibuprofen helps. The su...

Re: November Surgery Buddies!

I'm already out of the hospital, it went well ! Just hard to breathe when you wake up but it got better soon after. I was able to "talk" pretty quickly but since I got out of the hospital the numb spots on my face are getting bigger so I have a hard time talking now. The pain is not awful,...

Re: My braces keep hurting me, how can I make them stop?

I got my bottom braces a month ago and the first week was pretty rough ! After 4-5 days I thought the pain would never stop but after about a week it really got back to normal and I stopped using wax and the braces, wire and hooks didn't irritate the inside of my mouth anymore. I know it's hard the ...

Also curious as to what is the largest gap reported. My needs to be 9 mm and saw on Internet someone had 11 mm.[/quote]

I'll get back to you about that, my total expansion is supposed to be 13mm so my gap is probably gonna be freaking huge!

Re: November Surgery Buddies!

Heyy I've been a little busy getting everything ready for the surgery and working, but now I'm ready for tomorrow ! I got my expander last Thursday, the one that is fixed in the palate bones with screws, and I thought the screws would hurt a bit but they really don't. The expander though, it's alrea...
