Re: Hi I'm new :)
Hello Ashley. Welcome and good luck with your consultations. Have you decided what treatment option you are going for yet? (Or have you started your treatment?) First few days are a little rough, but after that you really do adapt to the extra gear in your mouth Good luck!

Re: Confess your orthodontic sins.
There was a Godiva chocolate shop RIGHT NEXT DOOR to my orthodontist office.... like come on - how fair is that. Literally minutes after getting my braces on... I walked into the Godiva shop and ate a truffle (well let the truffle melt in my mouth and swallowed it).... and yes... it was heavenly LOL...

Re: Waterpik with new braces
I used my waterpik day 1, just on the lowest setting and using lukewarm water. It was a little tender at first, but then started becoming soothing. I love my waterpik. it was very eye opening when i started using it (pre-braces) that my oral hygiene wasn't as perfect as I thought it was LOL. The fir...

Re: what's the cost of your braces?

How much are you paying for your braces? $6,500 3. What kind of braces do you have? Damon - clear on to...

Re: Newbie Tongue Pain
I agree! Use the wax. It's inexpensive and totally worth it!! Even with the wax you are still "toughening up" your mouth as it is still a foreign object that your mouth is getting used to. I tried to "be tough" and skip the wax - was torture and i was miserable, plus I ended up w...

Re: Poll: At What Age Did You Get Your Braces?
Just got mine 11 days ago. I am 37. Will be 40 when I get mine off so hoping to start my 40's off with great teeth :) I should have had them as a child, and could have because my parents had excellent benefits... wish I had then... but then it probably would have added to the things I would be bulli...

37F - struggling but enduring :) Off to a kinda scary start
Hello all. So happy to have found this forum :) Have learned a lot already from everyone's suggestions. I'm 10 days in. Clear braces top row, metallic bottoms, Damon braces. Elastics from day 1. Have hated my teeth my entire life, and finally decided to take the plunge and do adult braces. (I'm curr...

Re: 34 y/o female putting dental phobia aside and getting braces
I too have dental phobia. (I'm 37) I have to be be highly medicated or gassed for even the smallest of procedures. But I too had always wanted to get my teeth fixed as I have been self conscious my entire life of my smile and was tired of people telling me to "c'mon smile" in pictures. So ...
