Re: Newby wears braces and headgear
I had headgear when I was 8 and I had to wear only in the night. I had a class II problem and there was an elastic on the headgear supposed to push back my front teeth. The treatment took 3 year and after I got braces. It was long time ago... in the last years I haven't see anyone wearing headgear a...

Bionator
Is anyone of you familiar with Bionator?
How does it works?
Is it true that it is an appliance not fixed to the teeth? Does it works?

Re: Elastics with Lingual
Thanks for your reply... I have so many questions... I still have to decide what to do... How are you doing with the speech problem? (Lisp) Do you had the feeling that your mouth was full? Did your tongue get used to? How long it took in your case? ...I suffer from ulcers in my mouth from time to ti...

Re: Metal ligature
My ortho put this kind of metal ligatures when he changed my wire putting a bigger one.
It said he was already satisfied with the result and he wanted to avoid other movement... rotation... etc.

Re: Removable retainer, how long?
...I understand it is important to wear the retainer as much as possible to keep the result BUT 24/7 for 3-6-9 months it is really a lot... especially because a removable retainer is affecting the speech... That's really bad... I would go for a permanent retainer, but this is not recommended by many...

Metal ligature
Hi,
have you ever experienced ligatures (like power chain) in metal? I mean a metal wire which is bonded to your bracket (as a normal elastic) but it is going on all your brackets (like a power chain).
Cheers

No, it does not mean that you get a new wire at each appointment.

Re: Forsus
Hi,
I don't have Forsus however I know that compared to rubber band is much quicker (as you can't remove) and less noticeable. Speaking won't be a issue at all.
On the other hand you may face the problem that food could get stuck in (not nice) and it's bigger than elastics.
Do you have a class II?

Removable retainer, how long?

Is this so common? This is not a nice news to get to know they day you get debraced and you think that everything i...
