Re: Finally have a surgery date!!!

That's what they told me over the phone that they were going to do, turns out they were just putting them on with a new wire then taking them off to send to the technician, they actually get put on day before surgery. Sounded a bit far in advance to me too but I'm saying that my surgeon wanted them ...

Re: How long did you wear braces before Surgery?

We'll so far I've been in braces for 2 years and have approx 3 months until surgery (finally), although my progress has been a bit slower due to having to work with an impacted canine and bringing that down into the correct position as well as needing a root canal on that same tooth a year later whi...

Once you post more (the terms of the website say 7-12 posts) you 'should' get all of the permissions.

Re: I believe I have condylar hyperplasia

Sorry for my late reply! Not at all, I'm 26, the focus around the asymmetry and fixing my teeth only started when my wisdom teeth were removed and the surgeon casually asked during a post op check up if I'd like him to fix my jaw as well (this was in 2010/2011). I started researching the procedure a...

Re: UPDATE!!

I am in awe (mostly terror) that you chose to be awake during the procedure and they also let you have the option!! That's horrific!! I can't imagine being awake having my bone sawed into and chipped at, that's the stuff of nightmares, literally, I have double jaw surgery coming up and I do worry ab...

Re: I believe I have condylar hyperplasia

As far as I remember and even looking at photos of myself as a kid (8 years old even) I have had the asymmetry and huge cant of my teeth, I am still in disbelief this condition/diagnosis has NEVER been mentioned to me before! Well done on the research, I thought I'd done my fair share but now as my ...

Re: I believe I have condylar hyperplasia

Huh, we'll I've never heard the term Condylar hyperplasia but 100% that's what I have. Weird that my orthodontist or surgeon hasn't told me that's what it is. The more you know!

Re: Having 3-Piece Lefort 1 6/8/16

I found your post really interesting to read, I panicked a bit when I read the part about you 'waking up mid surgery' and then laughed when I read it was a joke :D although it is a slight fear of mine to wake up during surgery and also to then feel the pain but can't move. Hopefully the recovery get...

Lowers braced and so painful

My lower teeth got braced 2 days ago and man oh man the pain is something else, I obviously forgot the pain that is associated with my uppers as haven't had a proper adjustment or movement in more than 3 months due to last stages of moving my exposed canine into place and a root canal on said canine...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB

Just a wee little update, my canine is mostly in place now YAY! But wait!! I ended up having to have a root canal on that poor tooth, it's been through so much. I ended up with an infection and my ortho referred me to an endodontist and that afternoon I had a root canal (yesterday). Feeling very sor...

Re: Bite Block

My ortho surprised me with bite blocks to be put on at my next appointment a few weeks ago, just sprung it on me! My exposed canine is coming down and close to being in place the bite blocks need to be put in to stop the bottom canine getting in the way and hitting the new top canine from getting in...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB

Wow jenna88 that's a nice lot of shifting your teeth have done, they look great! Dont be too disheartened about your slow canine, it's almost a full 12 months since my exposure surgery and my tooth is lined up for its spot and being pulled forward, I've still probably got a few months left until it'...
