Re: questions??

Jamie, To see pictures, check out "our braces stories". A lot of people post their pictures and progress updates. There a couple of people who have had impacted canines removed and show progress pics. I've only had my wisdom teeth removed, so I can't comment on that. You could also search ...

I had severe crowding back by my molars and when I was banded, they had a hard time sliding it on even after the spacers came out. I bled and it hurt, but my crowding by my molars was worse than most people. Good luck and even if it is painful, I promise it is well worth it. Good luck. The spacers a...

I don't think it would look much different than ligs on regular metal brackets. My ortho strongly recommended against changing my own ligs. I would say that would be even more true for self-ligating brackets. You can snap off your brackets or bend the wire, as well as many other things that would ju...

Brandy, While I read online that you can use ligs on self-ligating brackets, my ortho office said they don't do it. They mentioned friction, but to them I'm sure it is just an unneccesary waste and cuts into the profit. I decided to go with regular metal brackets on the bottom so I could play around...

Silver/teal ligs

Here's a pic of my silver and teal ligs. You can check out my other pics if you want to compare them to clear and pearl ligs.

Jenn, Thank you! I just looked at your pics and your teeth look so great! I hope my arches start shaping up like yours soon. My boyfriend's family just figured out I had mine around Christmas. I was playing a game to see how long it took them. His aunt (who's son has braces) saw them. I can't believ...

Lig change - silver and teal

On 1/31/06, I had my ligs changed. I asked my ortho if I could change my own but he said no. I just started a new job and the clear ligs looked filthy and I couldn't handle having to look at that for another month. I chose silver for my uppers and teal for my lower brackets. The silver are hardly no...

I find the capitalized O's quite distracting. I think you'll get more replies if you edit those out.

I too have lost weight with braces, without trying. My family is concerned about it but it's only like 5-10 pounds. I had to go buy all new clothes because none of my pants fit me anymore, so I would say I'm not too happy about losing the weight.

I have silver on my ceramics right now and they aren't very noticeable at all, plus they don't get yellowish like the clear ligs do. I have taken pics but haven't posted them yet.

My ortho's office has a small sign in the office that says they use only new brackets that come individually sealed. It was off to the side of the check out area and barely noticeable. I had wondered if they used new brackets or not, but I guess it doesn't really matter. Everything else they are put...

I have a quadhelix on top and bihelix expander on the bottom. My ortho gave me an overjet prior to putting my lower brackets on. Part of it is to prevent you from biting off your lower brackets. They will pull back my teeth when the other teeth are in line (he's narrowed it a little already), somewh...

dark_angel475, Thank you! Your teeth look great, too. I love your colored ligs. Maybe some day I'll get colored ligs on my top brackets. I'm not sure yet. Part of me wants to go crazy and try the rainbow and different combinations but part of me is reserved and doesn't want anyone noticing my teeth....

This came up a while back when this first came out. I also disliked this mouthwash, as did many other Archwired members. It clumped badly on me BEFORE the braces so there was no way I was trying it after I got my braces on. The clumping was the mouthwash adhering to bacteria in your mouth, if I reme...

"Emergency" ortho visit!

I had to go to the ortho's office today to have my expander wire clipped. Yes, my lower expander's wire has come up between my teeth and has been stabbing my mouth and hurting me bad. My pics are reversed, so it's on the left side (my right side) of the pic. In the pic of my lower arch from 1/4/06, ...
