Re: Surgery didn't work!
I do know that braces can help a lot! but only the experts know in your case what's needed. I would say that surgeries depend on the level of necessity in my opinion, slight imperfections are normal in my view. I don't think surgeries can be 100% perfect and symmetrical (bone cutting, position, etc)...

Re: Brushing inside
I just had my wires off at two weeks post-op and I can't fit the brush inside either, I can't wait to brush inside! They did say to try and little by little put it inside (if I can), don't force anything, do it lightly until you can. I am also using a lot of warm water with salt and that helps with ...

Re: Unwiring appointment coming up, advice
Well it was today, I am at two weeks from surgery. I called and asked if they were going to give me pain medicine or sedation and they said it was not necessary Before I got to my appointment I took the pain medicine they had given me post-op just in case. The process was not painful but it was unco...

Re: Thinner upper lip
I am only 2 weeks post-op and my lip is also thinner, but the reason is the swelling above the lip and it's surroundings.
Don't worry, and remember than some swelling takes MONTHS to go away!

Unwiring appointment coming up, advice
Hi everyone, I will have the wire removed this week and I've had a difficult time finding stories on this. How painful is it during the process? Where you sedated or only given normal pain killers? Was your jaw uncomfortable and painful during hours after the process ? My ortho would prefer to see m...

Re: Consult with surgeon and waiting on insurance...
I experienced the same thing, my Ortho did say perhaps you'll need both but depending on how the teeth move it could be just lower. I had an overbite, open bite. I also wanted just lower jaw because to our eye that's the most noticeable part or our problem, I would say just move it forward so there'...

Re: On a scale 1-10 how much does jaw surgery compared to wisdom teeth removal
I just had jaw surgery 7 days ago. NO PAIN, really. At least for me. It's "uncomfortable" but not painful, why? the doctors said that when the jaws are operated on the nerves are moved or something (that's why so much numbness after the surgery) and for this reason there's very little pain...

Re: For how long have you been housebound after surgery?
So far it's been 7 day since the surgery and I have stayed home. I still have the band around my chin and a bit swollen, I don't feel like going out. I did go out 2 times and I covered my face with a scarf (as if it was one of those face scarfs that only shows the eyes), it worked, no one stared at ...

Re: 2 Months post op - not happy
Thanks for posting, definitely keeps us updated. Things happen, did you considered going to other doctors first? if the first one made a mistake perhaps a second opinion? Anyhow, I hope it all works out. I healed pretty fast because I DRANK A LOT< A LOT of liquids. I agree, people if you are getting...

Re: Does my face look right after surgery?
Don't worry so much as to the lips needing to cover the teeth in their "entirety" I think if he can do the genioplasty (which many doctors do while doing jaw surgery) and he can slightly make your mouth close you will look REALLY GOOD!!!! Please google a lot of photos of Megan Fox and mode...

Re: 8 months post op thinking revision
Hi Sarah, Sorry to hear this. I could only offer help after I heal because it seems I had the same problem as yours, except not as noticeable as you mention yours was. I had my surgery at Kaiser Oakland They did upper jaw surgery, lower jaw surgery, asymmetry reconstruction, and I believe a chin imp...

Re: Which Kaiser Plan will cover my Jaw Surgery? Please help
Hello Everyone, sorry it took me so long to reply!!!!! I had forgotten my password info. I did Kaiser, I had no employment that would pay for it (I'm self employed) I chose the Platinum option, it was quite expensive about $500 a month total (but without Obamacare). I chose this option because you o...

Experience with Oakland Dr. Heshaam fallah ?
I am having my surgery in Kaiser Oakland and I heard the most experienced and best doctor is Dr. Felice O'ryan, unfortunately there's a HUGE wait line, having the 1st consultation would take 2 months! They gave me Dr. heshaam fallah as he was available. I don't know how to ask him about his credenti...

Re: Any alternatives to double jaw surgery?
I think it depends of course. If your issue is slight you might not "need" it to survive or you can survive without it, actually many people can. Can it fix your problem? if the problems are due to the bone I don't see how anything (unless some slight issues yes) would fix it except to fix...
