Re: Two Stories in One: Our His and Hers Matching Braces

Hello, hello, hello, to all my friends who are braced, retained, invisaligned, applianced, and all you kindred spirits thinking about making the plunge. That is the hardest time so my thoughts are with you all. I can't tell you what to do but I'm a part of a community who, whether they never wanted ...

Anyone need ortho wax?

I have two packages of G-U-M brand ortho wax that I got for a really good deal on my supermarket's double coupon day. I prefer silicone myself, but I thought of y'all, so if anyone is interested, I'll mail out a pack to the first 2 people who pm me their address.

Re: Two Stories in One: Our His and Hers Matching Braces

Hey dear, I've been meaning to update for months! The pics are between my phone (currently in for repairs), his phone, and the laptop. So I've been wanting to get everything together before I update. But yes, definite progress, I'll try to post a real update post as soon as I can. Thanks for your th...

Re: Six Month Braces UK - 42 F

Hi love, I have only read days 1-3 so far, but if you haven't switched off wax yet, I highly recommend using silicone! Your teeth & grill have to be really dry to put it on, but it feels WAY smoother than wax and stays on WAY longer!! The cheapest way to buy it is as earplugs, Mack's Silicone Ea...

Re: Should I keep elastic on while eatting??

My ortho told me to leave mine in, but he told my SO to take his out. I think for us the difference is the configuration. I can open my mouth wider so it's not as big of a deal. And I have also heard it can speed movement to leave them in. Your jaw "learns" to move in this different positi...

Re: Two Stories in One: Our His and Hers Matching Braces

Anna, the next year is to work on my tooth height (I'm guessing) and bite (I know). Thanks for your sweet words. I just love all you guys here. You all just GET it. 95% sounds amazing, you're so optimistic. But this doc said 50% improvement would be a good outcome. Which is news to me as I've been t...

Re: Two Stories in One: Our His and Hers Matching Braces

Wise words, my dear! So FI had an appointment today. He finally met the head Dr, who fawned delightedly over his teeth and gave him 6-8 weeks til debracing. Yayyy for him! Mind you, this is the same doctor who made me cry both times I saw him. Basically told me my bite was unfixable. It was worse th...

Re: Em-"brace"-ing metal braces!

Yay for you! I loooove my metal braces!! Oh, colors, I love colors too. I'm partial to purples, pinks, blues/teals, and greens. Have fun with it!!! Like anything life, it is what you make it, and I'm glad you share my positive attitude (and fondness for colors). :) Good luck on the 13th, you'll do g...

Re: Two Stories in One: Our His and Hers Matching Braces

Hey Dee, those are pieces of that silver appliance I had in my mouth. They came unattached at the top so they were just loose in my mouth, but still attached at the bottom. How long you mean? Well it happened a several times, never more than a few days. And thanks but I'm actually in really, really ...

Thanks, love!

Oh, and I forgot to mention the Dr. filed my teeth today. My top front ones were kinda rough and uneven, one had a chip. And I think they look much smoother now, I'm quite pleased with the results. :)

Re: Two Stories in One: Our His and Hers Matching Braces

Okay, so long story short. December was an extremely rough month for me orthodontically (if that's a word) My liberty belle gave me so much pain. But I'm a tough cookie, I toughed it out through the loose wire that caught the inside of my cheek, cutting it very deeply, toughed through the ulcers, th...

Re: Two Stories in One: Our His and Hers Matching Braces

Mother of love!!! I just spent a good hour and a half, two hours typing this full explanation of the past month of my rather dramatic journey. Just as I was typing the closing, phone runs out of battery, I reboot, then all is gone!!!! Ahhh, now what?
