not getting used to them

I have had braces for 6 months now. I am on my 4th wire with the Damon clears upper and lower. My teeth have moved significantly and I am very pleased with the progress. (My total time estimate is 12-16 months). I have to say though, I am not used to them. I still wake up in the morning and look at ...

Re: progress - with photos

My time estimate was 12-15 months. I didn't ask if that had changed but I would be curious if they would change the estimate based on 10 wks of progress.

progress - with photos

I got my first Damon Clears adjustment at 10 weeks. It went smoothly. They changed the wire from the thinnest round wire to a thicker, but still round wire. I'm feeling some more pressure on my teeth but not as bad as I expected. 10 wks until my next appt. There is some progress but its slow. Lookin...

Re: Getting discouraged

Thanks for all the encouragement! Its great and really gives me some hope. Its funny, I look at my teeth not moving and can get myself thinking "could I be the only person in the world braces don't work on?" of course not, but it can make you crazy. I get my first adjustment in just over 2...

Getting discouraged

I know its early but I've had my braces - Clear Damons upper and lower - for 5 weeks and I have seen little to no movement of my teeth. I got them for crowding of the lowers and overlapped front teeth. In the blogs I have read I have seen people raving about how fast their teeth move in the the firs...

Re: Water Pik instead of flossing?

I have just had my braces a few weeks and have been so happy I bought a water pik. It was around $60 at Costco and came with BOTH the portable and the sink top versions.

The pik is so fast and convenient for getting out all that stuck food. Makes my mouth feel great.

Re: New guy on the block

I am a week into my treatment now. I am getting used to them. The pain is not that bad but I am still not eating a lot of solid food. I read through the whole contract and it was very straight forward. Make sure your retainers are included in the price.

Re: Damon Clears

Oh I saw your pictures on-line earlier! Its funny, I have the opposite problem than yours. My front teeth are severely overlapped so I will be thrilled to see a little space between them. I will post some photos. Yours look great. I haven't even tried to bite into anything. Lunch is the hardest beca...

Damon Clears

So I got my braces 3 days ago! After years of wanting to do it, considering it, coming up with reasons I wasn't ready, and chickening out - I have finally taking the plunge! The actual placement of my brackets was fine. I got the Damon Clears on my uppers AND lowers first thing in the morning. It to...

Re: New guy on the block

I am having Damon Clears placed on my uppers and lower tomorrow. My ortho said he would be able to do both arches at the same time with no spacers needed. He said that the clears for the lowers are brand new and he has only placed them on a few patients so far. I am really excited to finally get thi...

Re: Braces at 41

I am going for my consultation tomorrow, age 39 and female. I was going to get them a couple of years ago but chickened out. Any questions you wished you had asked your ortho before you got your brackets placed?
