Re: Impacted Wisdom Teeth ?
I still have all four of my wisdom teeth, and one is impacted. My ortho suggested that I remove them, but he also said if I choose not to, they won't impact my braces treatment at all. So it's pretty much my choice.

Re: Anyone else started clenching their teeth since braces?
I'm a notorious clencher. Sometimes I wonder if clenching makes the braces work slower. I can't stop it though, lol.

Re: Going into my first adjustment today with tons of questi
My bottom teeth were terribly crowded. When they started to move, I noticed a huge gap that wasn't there before, but I think that gap was only created to allow the other teeth to move properly. The gap closed up quickly after they gave me power chains. Now my bottom row is almost completely straight.

Re: When did you get your elastics?
I got them on my last checkup, which would be 7 months in, to fix a Class III underbite. Been two weeks so far, and I can notice a huge difference in my underbite. It's almost completely fixed. But when I take them off to eat and brush my teeth, I can feel the underbite come back. It's a really quic...

Re: Have braces improved your speech?
Made mine worse. Now I have a slight lisp, but I'm sure it'll go away once the braces are off.

There might be times when you regret it during, but trust me, once it's done, you'll be glad you went through it. I don't think you can put a price on your self esteem. and confidence.

Re: Yowza! The wire change pain!
The wire change itself is not painful (just pop two pain killers before you head to the office and you'll be fine). You start to feel the pain hours afterwards. The pain only lasts a few days, but it's a rough few days!Hedious wrote:Do you mean there's no anesthetization?

Power chains are awesome!
One of my bottom teeth was rotated, so space was created for it to rotate back to its natural position, which created a gap between that tooth. I just got a power chain on my checkup earlier today, and only two hours later, the gap is almost gone. Wow these things work fast!

The pressure comes back on and off. It's weird for me, one day it will be one tooth that is extremely sore, the next day it will be another tooth.

Re: I officially have braces :D
Hi there. My situation was like yours, my front teeth were behind my bottom teeth so the ortho put molar buildups to prevent me from biting down until they were pulled forward. Unfortunately, I grinded down my buildups in the 3 months I've have them in, so when I bite down, one of my from teeth stil...

Re: Adding additional brackets after four months?
Is it really more discomfort? Great... I thought that phase was long gone
yogapaws wrote:This happened to me- Went in last week (end of month 4). Banded the last lower molars & a new wire extend all the way.
I thought "banded" referred to rubber bands.
This is a new level of discomfort.

Re: Lower braces agony talking/ sneezing?!
Hmm I'm not really sure if that's supposed to be normal. I haven't experienced what you're experiencing at all. If I were you, I'd bring it up to my ortho and see what they say about it. Hi, I've recently had radiance clear bracket braces fitted top (18 days ago) and bottom (8 days ago), and a quad ...

Re: I see movement already!
Congrats! I saw movement in the first month as well, but the movement sort of halted in the second month. On my third month now. I'm not anticipating any movement this month until I get my new wire next month. I've had my braces for six weeks and this morning a heavier wire was put on. I can already...
