Re: New Damon put on yesterday - cannot eat!

LibbyLou- The biggest concern for the no sugary drinks rule is that often youngsters in ortho don't keep up well enough with their oral hygiene. Encourage your daughter to keep those brackets completely clean and shiny, and she should be able to have juice/other sweet light colored drinks in moderat...

Re: Bad breath + going on a night out with Invisalign

Bucky- It sounds like you're getting a bit of halitosis from your mouth drying out. I had the same problem with my essix retainer (basically the same thing as an invisalign tray) I'd suggest keeping water with you through the day- as it's the only truly safe liquid to drink during invisalign. (There...

Re: Gingival Gum Graft Surgery Necessary!

In our office we use nitrous oxide and valium when doing gingival grafts. My guess is that you are right- if you have such a strong reaction to benadryl, anything too strong will have you a puddle on the floor. A dose of valium on a good empty stomach the morning of treatment will probably do the tr...

Re: Debanding Fears and What you Did - Anyone push back date
Can you add a bit of bonding to the front tooth to make it like the other one?
I can't see the picture to see how uneven the teeth are, but... bonding to incisal edges is a high maintenance ordeal and likely to come off. Your better bet is to turn your dentist...

Re: Essix retainer doesn't fit (its brand new)

My guess is that once you get your hawley, your teeth will come back to even closer to the day of debanding. I'm VERY suprised that your ortho didn't get you that Essix on the debanding day or the the day after.

My teeth shifted out with my essix and have been brought back in by my hawley.

Re: Essix moving opposite arch?????

Yes- it is indeed possible that if you're biting down overnight your essix is causing a change in your bite. My essix moved my upper anterior teeth during the month that I waited to get my hawley back from the lab. (No worries- my hawley fits beautifully and has those teeth perfectly aligned again.)...

Dentek Braces Clean Floss picks

The best thing ever (as far as I was concerned) happened while I was in braces.... Dentek came out with floss picks that are designed to fit under wires between brackets!!! I'm a totally lazy flosser- have been all my life and two root canals and two crowns later I've almost learned my lesson. They ...

Re: Crest Glide Threader floss is now Oral-B Glide Threader

Crest and Oral B are (for all practical purposes) the same brand... When dental offices choose what type of paste to carry the two major options are Crest vs Colgate. If you elect Crest then your package deal includes the Glide floss and Oral B tooth brushes. So, the product hasn't changed, It's jus...

Re: Crest Pro-Health Toothpaste is the worst!

You are definitely NOT alone. I work in a dental office and the doctor ran into this issue as well. He couldn't figure out why he was having sloughing of his cheeks and gums. He thought he had thrush or some form of dental disease. After chatting with our hygenist, they realized that he had been usi...
