Re: metal v ceramic

I have ceramics on the bottom, and I have never noticed any staining, even when I drink black coffee and red wine, as well as eat spaghetti sauce almost every day.

Re: what's the cost of your braces?

1. Where are you located? Massachusetts
2. How much are you paying for your braces? $8700
3. What kind of braces do you have? Lingual uppers, ceramic lowers.
4. What is your estimated time in braces? 18 months initially. I'm ahead of schedule so it could be as few as 15-16 months.

Re: Online dating and braces...

I've done online dating with braces, and I never mention it, and it's never been a problem. Of course, I have lingual uppers and ceramic lowers, so no one ever notices it anyway. Your orthodontist probably should have been clear with you that 12 months was only an estimate, and...

Re: Changing Archwire

The wires just have slightly different shapes and thicknesses, based on your ortho's plan for your treatment. If you are getting a thicker/differently shaped wire, you should expect some pain for a few days, but it just means that you're progressing with your treatment.

Re: Changing ortho

It might be worth it to go into another orthodontist for a consultation. They are generally free of charge, and it's only going to provide you with information you didn't have before, good or bad. Even if it will cost more money to get things fixed properly, it's better to know sooner than later.

Re: Poll: At What Age Did You Get Your Braces?

25. I should have gotten them as a kid, but my dentist at that time always ignored the issues.
