Finally have a debanding date!!!!
Debanding date has been set for March 20th for the uppers and 1 month after for the lowers. I'm ecstatic. It will be 2 years in march. It's been a long somewhat difficult journey cause i had linguals, and I'm so happy to be done. I started out with bimaxilliary protrusion, took out 4 first premolars...

Re: My journey
Hi - thanks for sharing your journeys. Really interesting and a little bit scary! Please could I ask how much you're paying at London Lingual for your braces? Their website says 'from £6000' but I know that some orthodontists can charge a lot more than their minimum price. I've had some consultatio...

Re: Extractions + TADs or Extr. only for Bimax Protrusion ca
Thanks for your reply, diegorgeous! I'm definitely hoping I can get adequate results with my profile without TADs!! I wonder how your orthodontist was able to make sure your back molars didn't move forward! That's awesome :D I went to your braces journey thread but somehow I can't see any of the pi...

Re: Extractions + TADs or Extr. only for Bimax Protrusion ca
Had bimaxilliary protrusion. Extracted 4 first premolars. No tads and completely happy with my profile now. Very big difference. Don't think my back teeth moved forward at all!!! Because no space between last molar and wisdom ,and wisdom wasn't bracketed.

Almost done?
Hey everyone , I'm at the 18th month of my 18 - 24 month sentence of braces for bimaxilliary protrusion. My extraction gaps have been closed for about 4 months now, but in the process of closing them, my upper canines went up, so we are trying to pull them down. As of my last appointment, my ortho s...

Re: How to know when you are approaching the end
This is a great question, I'm glad you asked. I have about 4 months left and while my ortho said my teeth do move quickly, and I'm in my final wire, it hasn't been bent yet or anything. They are adjusting my mindline with heavier elastics, which he said is the last step, but I'm still hoping to get...

Re: How to know when you are approaching the end
@ Hypocrite opportunist
Ohhh I do have a feeling this is my last wire because if it wasn't i don't think my ortho would have mentioned to me that the remaining movements will be done with bends in the wire.
You must be soo excited, you're almost done!!!

How to know when you are approaching the end
Hey Everyone, I have had my braces for about 1 year now. As of last year october, my ortho told me that from that point forward, all teeth movement will be done by bending wires. Does that mean I am in my finishing wire? At that point (October) is also when we began closing my 1st premolar extractio...

Class II elastics (Lower First molar vs Lower Second molar)
Hey Everyone, I have a quick question regarding class II elastics. I have been wearing them since October ( elastic going from upper canine to lower 1st molar, the molar right next to my 2nd premolar). I have used a number of different strengths from fox, bear and now Ram. My lower molar elastic hook...

Re: Any facial changes with your braces?
^ so when you get your braces off do you expect your lips to be slightly bigger? or are you attributing your smaller lips to the extractions you had? there's no way braces would push your lips in rather than out, physically impossible. definitely the extractions. i have lingual braces so my braces ...

Re: Any facial changes with your braces?
My lips look slightly smaller (in a good way). I already have full lips, and pre-braces my teeth were tipped outwards . I also had 4 first premolar extractions.

Re: Bimaxillary protrusion, receded chin. (pics)
I have a case of dental bimaxilliary protrusion. I have removed 4 first premolars and i'm still retracting my teeth backwards. I have seen a slight change in my profile for the better...but i'm expecting more changes because i'm just at month 10 out of a sentence of 18 - 24 months. Hopefullly retrac...
