Re: Dry lips..

Either Chapstick or just plain staying hydrated. Constant water intake, i also found the problem with chapped lips only occured in the first few months. I think it may be a reaction to the braces.

Re: Regret Biscupid Extractions! Reopen Space with Expander?

Hmm..maybe it's something else causing them. You could also consult with an esthetic surgeon, he can probably tell you if this could cause it.

I think you need a few more posts before you can attach images, last time i remember it was 10 posts. Hang around more and then you can attach them via the reply button :)

Re: Transferring orthodontist

I don't think my case would help you much in that aspect. Like i said im switching countries too. I'm going from a country where the minimum wage is 250 euros/month to one where it's over 1000 euros/month. So i am going to be charged much more that what i ever paid here. However my ortho only ever g...

Re: Transferring orthodontist

Im about to transfer orthos as im moving to a different country. What the ortho i contacted asked for was this: referral from the old ortho, the type and size of braces (my case ROTH and 0.22) , and the full documentation (xrays, pictures, notes etc). And they charged a fixed sum for the rest of the...

Re: Plaque buildup

I have the same issue to the point where it drives my dentist and ortho crazy. We haven't really found a solution to this other than frequent cleanings, the more the better.

Re: Regret Biscupid Extractions! Reopen Space with Expander?

@Lalaloo : I don't quite agree..I've had bracers for well over 2 years now, and my ortho only suggested extraction of premolars (over 1 year in the treatment) after the xray showed my profile to be bulging out due to front teeth being pushed forward because of lack of space. And now if you look at m...

Re: 3mm Gap?

Well yeah, my ortho kind of wanted to avoid extractions but after a year she said that the front teeth were too slanted forward because of no room. So i had the 4 premolars extracted. According to my ortho the bite is fixed, just need to close these damn gaps. Which is why it's so frustrating when i...

Re: teeth and anxiety

The only thing i see is the off midline, but let me ask you something..Since the beginning of his stardom, have you EVER noticed Tom Cruise had a very crooked midline? Because i sure didn't until i saw him with braces. The point im trying to make is that MOST people...don't notice. They really don't...

Re: How accurate are OD duration estimates?

2 and a half years, currently reaching year 3 on Dec 1st...and counting. But for me it was because i had some extractions done during treatment, after my xrays revealed that my teeth were being pushed too far forward.

Re: Getting braces off - mixed feelings

I think Bite is the most important thing. A midline is just aesthetic, and if it isn't too off then very few if any will notice. The bite however, affects the health of your teeth and jaw.

Re: Regretting getting colored ties. Can I change them earl

Best thing would be to call them on monday and see if they have what you want, in some cases, they need to order them (my ortho for instance needs to order my elastics for me, so i let her know in advance). As for the colors, you learn as you go. Chances are no one will really take notice of the col...

Re: Are my lower braces ready to come off?

There could be many reasons why some gaps remain, shape of the teeth for instance, position of the roots in your gums. The gaps don't seem TOO big to me to be honest, and it just seems that they are there because of your teeth shape. But i would bring this up with your ortho, and see why or how they...
