I can't answer because I haven't had surgery yet, but this brings up a question I have...do you find these symptoms to be impairing your quality of life? I ask because I'm 58, and know my recovery will be affected by my age. I'm trying to figure out if I had residual numbness, would it alter my lif...

I am 6 months post op and still have plenty of numbness in my upper gums and lower right half of my lip. My surgeon warned me well in advance that numbness could take up to 2 years to return. I wasn't aware I was getting a catheter until I woke up and they told me they had put one in. I was not allowed to get out of bed for the first 2 days in the hospital so it wasn't an option for me. It didn't bother me at all, and didn't hurt when they took it out.

Post-op questions

Hello everyone! I am 4 weeks post op and really wish I had come across this forum earlier! I had both upper and lower jaw surgery for an underbite and open but as well as genioplasty. So far I think the recovery has gone fairly smoothly, I can open 25mm and am aiming for 30mm by the 6 week mark. I h...
