I have been in varying configurations of elastics since the 2nd appointment. I am now 2 years in and hopefully, will be done soon. I am in Damon braces and my understanding is that the elastics are a common thing in conjunction with the "self-ligating" technology of the Damons.

Absolutely keep wearing the elastics as instructed. It is the "over-correction" feeling that will make it correct when they come off. I, too, am nearing the end of my treatment, but I was told the key to getting done is to be faithful to the elastics until the end !. Hope that encourages y...

Braces on at 54, I am 11 months in and retiring at the end of the year BEFORE braces come off.

It's OK....... hasn't been a bad trip at all.

I too, have had brackets repositioned and due for another couple to be moved next appointment. Normal.... means things are moving and they are adjusting for that movement and going on to the next round of positioning.

I sure would like to see that website if there is one. I am looking at finishing my dental work with either veneers or crowns once the braces come off.

I am only 3 months in on an 18-20 month sentence. I am hoping the last two months weren't lost since it took so long to be able to get those last two bands on.

We will see. In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy the weight loss (needed that anyway!).

54 years old and definitely NOT anxious to do this at my age. I have clear brackets on the front six and had the braces on for a month before a few co-workers finally noticed them.

Go for it! You'll be glad you did.

I have Damon clear on the front six top ("social 6") and metal Damon's on the rest. I wouldn't trade them for anything. They do not stain and don't show that bad (wire shows, but not the brackets). At 54 years old, I needed all the encouragement I could get and this hasn't been bad at all....

I had to have bands on my gold crowns because the glue for brackets won't stick to the gold crowns.

2nd Adjustment appointment since Brace Day: Today, orthodontist installed the 2 remaining bands and took out the springs. I am only hitting on one tooth, so there was no hope of getting bite turbos out yet. Since we had to make a gap for the 2 remaining bands, the same size wire (.018) went back on ...

I applaud your bravery. I am almost 2 months in at 54 years old.

1st Adjustment since Brace Day: Orthodontist was scheduled to install the 3 remaining bands. They could only get one of the three in, so they installed heavier duty (more “active”) springs to get more separation for the remaining two at next appointment. They also installed 4 more hooks (clamped on)...

The clear Damons do seem to stick out slightly farther than the metal. It's not that much more, but I do notice a slight bit more lip protrusion on the top because of it. It has been well worth it to me.

Jenniebaby, Just want to confirm that those are, in fact, the clear Damons. I have exactly the same configuration.....clear Damon on the front social 6 and metal Damons everywhere else. They're great, aren't they!!?? I was smoking through a pack-a-day of wax for the first 2+ weeks with all the hooks...
