I would def. explain to him why you are concerned about getting a bonded retainer! You shouldn't be stuck having something for virtually forever that you never wanted in the first place. Good luck!

I have two bonded retainers, and those are the only retainers I have. My ortho explained it in (obviously simplified) terms that, for me, since my mouth is completely full of teeth with no extra room, if my front six teeth are cemented in place, the back teeth will have nowhere to go

Although it might not put your teeth back completely correct, I would wear my retainer as much as possible starting....four days ago . Definitely call the ortho!!

My mother starting using (not sure of the exact name) "Aquafina Lip Quencher". I tried it the other day and loved it! It might be partly the fact that the name Aquafina alone makes my mouth water (delicious bottled water! mmm!) I have also heard rave reviews about "hemp chapstick"...

Which brands have you used? You quite possibly have tried this already, but I really like Crest VividWhite. I originally got it because of the taste ( :oops: ), but have fallen in love with it! It gives my mouth a fresh, clean feeling for hours, and at the end of the day, no "fuzzy slipper"...

I truly think that people look completely different with their braces off. It may not seem like a few pieces of small metal make a huge difference, but they do!! I think people look especially attractive because their whole countenance is glowing, shining with happiness.

My story is the same as mtbrncofn's, my ortho bonded my retainers on before removing my braces. A few weeks prior to that date was when I got impressions for the retainers.

I think it would be interesting to have a list of most or all of the lig colors, and what shades they turn after eating staining foods. My pink ligs also turned orange (not a bad color, just surprising) and my aqua ligs turned a bright green.

Hi Kayla :) 10th adjustment-wow!! I think that you should voice ANY concerns that you have with your ortho, no matter how silly they seem. The fact that they're concerning you is something! I would hope that the ortho's are planning to close all gaps before debanding, but I guess you never know. Goo...

Honestly, nearlyoffxox, that neither of them was really hard to deal with for me. I have bonded retainers and I don't even notice them.
